Summary

Eight months pregnant and completely alone, Tegan is desperate for a fresh start. With her life falling apart, she packs up and hits the road, planning to stay with her brother until she figures out her next move. But she doesn’t realize she’s driving straight into a brutal blizzard.

She never makes it to her destination.

When her car breaks down in the middle of rural Maine, leaving her stranded with a broken ankle, panic sets in. Then, just when all hope seems lost, a kind couple rescues her, offering shelter in their cosy cabin until the storm passes.

But something feels off.

What started as a safe haven quickly turns into something far more sinister. As the days stretch on, Tegan begins to realise she isn’t just snowed in. She’s trapped. And if she doesn’t find a way out soon, she and her unborn child may never escape.

The book leads readers through a complex psychological maze where reality becomes increasingly uncertain. McFadden introduces another unexpected twist right when you think you understand the story!!

It captures readers with the storytelling and maintains their interest throughout the narrative. The Crash showcases McFadden’s trademark fast-paced writing style through short chapters that keep readers engaged until late hours. I read it in a day! The book delivers unsettling experiences (some parts are hard to read!) that captivate readers through its creepy mystery and tension-filled atmosphere. Suspense fills the air creating a palpable tension as readers experience Tegan’s anxiety and confusion while she tries to escape.

Final Thoughts

The book excels in its combination of psychological tension and surprising plot twists which McFadden handles masterfully. Each time you believe the plot becomes clear, a new revelation completely changes everything. The ending presents a powerful conclusion that will leave readers stunned while maintaining suspense.
