Today It’s my turn for the blog Tour of Grandma Z by Daniel Gray-Barnett. A wonderful debut children’s book that will appeal to everyone.
On an ordinary day, in an even more ordinary town, it was Albert’s birthday.
When Grandma Z roars into town on her motorcycle, Albert is swept up in a very extraordinary adventure. Life may never be the same again!
This glorious debut from Daniel Gray-Barnett is filled with wonder, imagination, and a wild, magical spirit that will thrill young and old.
What is extremely appealing about Grandma Z is the colours used in the book. Bright, bold orange and blue is striking in the illustrations. But as the whole book is set in a little boys imagination it is very apt.
Poor little Albert wishes for a “proper” birthday party with cake and musical chairs, because his dad hates noise and mess he never has one. Then before you know it he is whisked away on an adventure with Grandma Z on the back of her motorbike.
Grandma Z is aimed for kids between 3 and 6 I would feel. Although my two and a half-year old found it fascinating.
Here are the other blogs on the tour this week.
