When I was about 10 years old I used to be into all the Nancy Drew mystery books and basically any adventure books I could get my hands on. I used to love going with my mum browsing around charity shops at all the books. We used to get some great books. Then Dad used to take us after school to our local library as well so I could top up my books every couple of weeks. Here I would save up my pocket money to buy the ex-library books. I would spend all day browsing in the library if I could!
Anyway onto the actual aim of this post. I have been given the chance to read and review a fab little mystery kids book called Mystery at the Ice Hotel it’s one of the Chasing Danger mystery books by Sara Grant. Totally my type of children’s book. I’m so excited to be on this book tour!
Book Description
After surviving a kidnapping attempt in the Maldives, Chase and Mackenzie are off to the Ice Hotel in Iceland! What could go wrong there? But as soon as they arrive, accidents start to occur that seem targeted to scare – or worse, seriously hurt – the guests. When a body shows up frozen in an ice bed, it’s up to the two girls to figure out who is behind the attacks …before anyone else gets hurt!
My Review
I loved reading the first book Chasing DangerThat one was full of exciting action with teenagers Chase and Mackenzie visiting Mackenzie’s grandmother on a tropical island and trying to save everyone. So I hoped Mystery at the Ice Hotel wouldn’t let me down. It honestly did not!
This time around Mackenzie and her friend Chase are off to Iceland. Just like a typical mystery book we have a body, so-called accidents occurring which makes it edge of the seat stuff! I had to wrap up warm while reading it as I feel the cold and this novel is just cold creepy and a fantastic who dunnit.
The author’s writing style is very punchy and action packed. You get the laughs as well as seriousness. The characters are well developed and good for many more books. Chase and Mackenzie really do show us what girl power can do!
I have given Chasing Danger: Mystery at the Ice Hotel 5 out of 5 stars
