Hello and welcome back to my stop on the blog tour for Trust Me by Zosia Wand. I have been catching up with my reading lately after being ill (that will be for another time!), and I’m glad that by reading Trust Me has picked up my spirits and gave me that love of reading back.
Before we come to my review, I want to tell you a little bit about Trust Me.
Book Description
Lizzie is twenty-seven, and she has a great relationship with her seventeen-year-old stepson, Sam, even though they could pass for brother and sister.
When Sam becomes sullen and withdrawn, Lizzie starts to suspect that something sinister is going on at school. She thinks an older woman is grooming him, trying to turn him against his family. But nobody believes her – and then suspicion falls on Lizzie herself…
Trust Me is an absorbing, suspenseful and thought-provoking thriller that asks if you can ever really trust anybody… including yourself.
My Review
Lizzie lives with partner Jonty in the Lake District with his son Sam. Jonty is much older than Lizzie, in fact she is closer in age to Sam her stepson. Lizzie’s family works together, but is a little unusual. Then something happens and everything is torn apart.
I love the way the author writes and how she depicts the character’s especially Lizzie. I would say that Trust Me is more family drama than a thriller. This hasn’t stopped me enjoying the novel at all. I found the start began slowly, then gained speed throughout.
Trust Me is a challenging read because the subject matter isn’t to everyone’s taste. It’s disturbing at times because you think of grooming.
However, I have decided to give Trust Me by Zosia Wand 4 out of 5 stars.
