We are now full-blown into Winter. Where I live in Cornwall it’s wet, blustery and cold! So what better time than to share my women’s Winter fashion picks for 2023? As an outdoorsy family – you can’t not be living in Cornwall I’m all about keeping that bitter wind out of my bones!
And you know how much I love to share my latest fashion finds from Yours, well I’m back sharing their top Winter looks from the plus size coats and shacket collections.
Over the New Year, we took a walk around my old childhood playground – the South Wheal Francis Engine House on The Great Flat Lode near Redruth. It’s steeped in mining history. My ancestors were miners in these tin mines back in the 1800s!
It is very cold and windy around the old engine houses and buildings so the first thing I made sure I was wearing was a duffle coat and layered up with a shacket! The weather was dry this time, so I was able to show the shacket off. It’s become a firm favourite item of clothing in my winter wardrobe.
This plus-size beige and brown shacket features a check print with long sleeves and button fastenings finished with a dipped hem and chest pocket. It’s ideal to layer over your favourite outfits to keep cosy in Winter. I’ve also been wearing it around the house to keep warm. It truly is warm and snuggly and a multi-purpose item of clothing!
I’m 5ft 7 tall and wearing a size 20 in the shacket. I find Yours clothing to be very generous in their sizes. I believe I could have gotten away with a size 18 in the shacket for a tighter fit and less hanging material around the back.

I’ve worn it a few times now on our walks.
I think duffle coats are timeless and a great addition to your winter wardrobe. When I was young I remember having a grey duffle coat that I adored. It had those pointy buttons! This duffle coat has a metal toggle fastening – a modern take on the old pointy buttons – love it!
I’m a huge fan of wearing boots in the winter – functional and keeping your legs warm at the same time. These stunning chocolate brown boots are perfect for the walk to school. I can’t get enough of them!
I have fairly big calf muscles – far too much netball when I was younger hehe! So finding knee-high boots is a right nightmare! These gorgeous ruched cleated boots in size 8 Wide Fit E are perfect. They are made in a faux suede fabric, with a side zip fastening and rounded toe.
