A couple of years back, I ran a giveaway with Nathan Holder for his fantastic book I Wish I Didn’t Quit: Music Lessons, which was about helping your child to not quit learning a musical instrument. It gave you the tools to succeed in helping them along their musical journey. Well, today I’m back with another super giveaway of Nathan’s new book Why Is My Piano Black and White? which is released on 1st September 2020. The winner will get their copy before it’s released!

So what is Why Is My Piano Black and White? all about?

Well, it’s the first children’s reference book all about the piano! It takes you on a musical journey to help you discover the weird and wonderful world of the piano and the people who have made music on it!

Filled with fun facts, jokes, quizzes and music – after you read it, the piano will never be the same again! Let Olivia, Callum, Zaki and Pheobe introduce you to pianists like Billy Joel, Khatia Buniatishvili, Mary Lou Williams, and Stevie Wonder, be inspired by some of the most interesting people who have ever played the piano! 

Is middle C really in the middle? What is the world’s most expensive piano? Who composed a cat piano concerto? You’ll have to read it to find out!

It’s a really fun book, full of cool illustrations and facts. It’s been well thought out and will give children a special insight into the piano.

There is a playlist at the back of the book, of all the music found in the book. A fantastic touch, which makes the book come to life. I think it’s a fantastic touch.

About The Author​

Nathan Holder is a musician, author, and consultant based in London. He received his Masters in Music Performance from Kingston University, while winning the MMus Prize for Outstanding Achievement.

As a musician, he has performed with artists such as Ed Sheeran, The Arkells and Zoe Birkett, and performed in locations in Dubai, Bali, USA and across Europe. His first book published in 2018 is called I Wish I Didn’t Quit: Music Lessons.
