You know how much we love to scope out and review new toys! Today, we are introducing you to the stretchy, squishy, crunchy tactile GooZonians! Who are the GooZonians you might ask? They are a brand new toy range released this May. Also in conjunction with the toy line, there is an 11 minute webisode introducing you to the world of GooZonia. It tells you how the GooZonians got their superpowers. You can find the webisode here on the Character Kidz YouTube channel.
The GooZonians are a fantastic new range of tactile toys, perfect for children with sensory needs. They are aimed at girls 4-6 years who love fantasy storytelling, action and adventure. Although older children and all genders are sure to love them too! There are 6 heroes and a special twin pack with exclusive fillings for Queen Ember and Princess Flik.
The Story behind the GooZonians and GooZonia
The stretchy superheroes protect the magic realm of GooZonia. Queen Ember, Princess Flik and the superheroes juggle getting used to their new powers, royal responsibilities and of course squad goals while preventing the ApoGoolypse!
The beautiful land of GooZonia is a land where enchanted rainbow-hued goo flows through everything. It’s the home of the most cheery, easy-going and flexible people you may meet.
Many generations ago, a strange force of nature, known as Stone Heart, turned the goo dull and hardened it throughout the land and the hearts of the people. It caused a lot of hurt. To save her people the Queen Cinder infused the last of the flowing goo with ancient magic to create 6 powerful charms. These charms gave the people of GooZonia the power to narrowly defeat the Stone Heart and reverse the effects.
However, feeling the temptation of the charms would be too powerful and used wrongly, Queen Cinders hid them across the land.
In the present day, the Stone Heart has returned and Cinder’s great-great-great-great granddaughters. Queen Ember and Princess Flik must find the charms to defeat it and protect GooZonia from the ApoGoolypse!
The GooZonians
There are 6 characters to collect and each has its own strengths and personalities:
Princess Ember
A striking phoenix to lead the people of GooZonia. She takes her responsibilities very seriously and strives to put the needs of her people before her own. She is a careful planner and knows every detail of her realm. A warm and generous host who always has a kind word for her people. Queen Ember can be overcritical in times of stress, especially towards her sister Princess Flik.
Queen Ember is filled with flame effect strands, star shaped sparkles, combined with red, orange and yellow flecks of swirling shimmer.
Key Traits – Brave, charismatic, dutiful but critical.
Charm – Flame
Princess Flik
Princess Flik is the youngest heir to the GooZonian throne in several generations. By 5 minutes that’s it! Her twin sister Ember was born first!
Flik loves sharing the castle with her sister Ember, She is impulsive in her duty of patrolling the realm. She is ready to battle the Stone Heart anywhere, anytime.
Princess Flik is filled with rheoscopic filling with swirling galaxy effect lightning shimmer.
Key Traits – Confident, adventurous, impulsive but clumsy.
Charm – Lightning
Cora
Born and raised in the bright-lights-big-city of GooTropolis on the other side of the Shimmer Slime Sea, Cora is an all-singing, dancing and acting triple threat! Shes the artistic director of the Royal Performance Company and keeps the girls entertained when they need a break from studies and Stone Heart missions. She lives for creating new ideas that she can put to music or take to the stage.
Cora is filled with small hexagonal sparkles in pink and orange stretchy glucose.
Key Traits – Enthusiastic, creative, opinionated but overconfident.
Charm – Shell
Roxy
Roxy is the royal spokesperson and heads up the castle’s social committee. She is the life of the party in GooZonia!
She organises Ember and Flik’s social calendar and runs the sisters’ Prism feed (GooZonia’s leading social media platform) She has a sense of style and taste that is highly influential. She is generous with her time and knowledge and gives GooZonians style tips whether they want it or not!
Roxy is also the most naive and obsessed with superficial details and as well as being the most indecisive.
Roxy is filled with silver snowflakes and shimmering blue stars within stretchy glucose
Key Traits – Glamorous, naive. generous but superficial
Charm – Star
Isla
Isla is an avid surfer and animal lover. She comes from a small village on the bay of Shimmer Slime. She is the most environmentally aware GooZonian. As a result, she’s become the Royal Steward of the eGoosphere.
Isla is highly attuned to all the creatures in GooZonia, she can read their body language and sense their feelings. She never gets down, but can be so chill about things that she forgets important details, like where she left her vital Pearl charm!
Isla is filled with purple moon and star shaped sprinkles and clear water beads.
Key Traits – Easy going, independent, optimistic yet forgetful.
Charm – Pearl
Glyde
Glyde is a shy enigmatic introvert who loves to puzzle out problems and strategize ways to stop Stone Heart. She is the Royal Engineer and inventor who creates flexible gadgets. Most comfortable in her workshop in the castle. While she is the most reserved GooZonian she has a passionate streak sparked by her creativity.
Glyde is filled with a mix of pink and purple water beads and a dragon scale effect with added pink sparkle dust suspended inside.
Key Traits – Shy, inventive, passionate but insecure.
Charm – Gemstone
GooZonian Toy Review
We received, Roxy and Glyde to review. They are extremely fun toys to play superheroes with! My 4 year old is autistic and loves the feel of them, especially Roxy as she is super squishy and stretchy. They make perfect sensory toys for sensory seekers!
After giving them a stretch and a squish, they return to their original shape quickly. They are lovely and bright in colour and great for exploring textures. L is 6 and adores the webisode to follow along with her GooZonian collectable dolls. She loves to reenact it!
Each GooZonian action figure has its own filling and hidden magic power charm to discover. Squeeze their bodies to explore the different fillings and see their gooey bodies move and stretch!
