Casdon Chip ‘n’ Pin Till and Shopping Basket Review

We love our role play toys. Baby girl’s latest favourite thing to do is to pretend she works in a shop (like her mummy does!) and goes around with her shopping trolley picking up her play food and heading to the till. We are a huge fan of Casdon role play toys and this latest one doesn’t disappoint! The Chip ‘n’ Pin Till is fantastic for pretend play alongside the shopping basket. A huge thanks to Casdon for sending these over to us to review, you made my little girls day!

The Chip ‘n’ Pin till comes with some pretend boxes and cans of food, but I would recommend getting the Casdon Shopping Basket to go alongside. The basket contains lots of packets and tins, not forgetting a lemon! The items are real life miniatures of the real thing. Yes there is even a box for an Arctic Roll, my fav!

There are many well-known brands such as Tetley, Birds Eye, Findus, and Mr Kipling, in the basket, making pretend play even more realistic. If your little one is like my daughter, she will want to take the shopping basket with her to the shops!

The shopping basket contains 20 items.

The realistic Chip ‘n’ Pin till has been designed for hours of play and I can see why. It has many functions just like a real till! All you need is to add 5 AA batteries. It comes with a set of stickers to pop onto your till and flat pack food boxes to make up. As well as the play money and bank cards for the Chip ‘n’ Pin (which actually include pin numbers!). There is a little wind up receipt roll that will come out of the till, but it doesn’t print out.

What We Thought

I love the idea around role playing toys, they help children learn real life skills – we all need to go to the shops don’t we? The Chip ‘n’ Pin Till and Shopping Basket will keep the kids amused for hours with all the different functions and buttons. The working calculator is great for the older age range. Remembering the pin number on the bank cards promotes memory skills. A Green light shows on the Chip ‘n’ Pin machine when the correct pin number is entered and you get a beep from the till. Overall they are fantastic role play toys but I would have loved to have seen a working scanner on the till, as that is the main part of a shopping till in the shops.
