Night Sky Star Map Review

Next month sees our 5th wedding anniversary. So when Modern Map Art got in touch asking if we wanted to review a night sky star map I thought it would be ideal as a gift to us for celebrating 5 years of married life.

I’m a bit of a star geek and love the night sky. Stars are wonderful to gaze at on a clear night and I’m always looking for the constellations I know. What’s your favourite constellation? I’ve always been a fan of the plough as it was the first one I found myself as a kid.

Excuse my bedraggled, tired look, but I was up most of the night before this picture was took with baby dottie who had her first set of immunisations.

Planning and designing our night sky star map was a fairly simple process on the Modern Map Art website. You input a special date to you, ours was our wedding day, but it can be birthdays, christenings, first day we met etc. Then the websites technology creates your star map for that exact date and place. So no two maps are the same!

They offer simple maps to more complicated constellations like mine. You have the options of messages, fonts, colours and borders for whatever your style.

Our stunning night sky star map was in the navy poster design, navy sky with white text size 24 x 36. I supplied my own frame from The Range.

The best thing about Modern Map Art is that they use a detailed star database with hundreds of thousands of stars. Then they find what the sky looked like at an exact time and place in history (or future!). It’s really clever!

The poster is made from excellent matte quality paper, you can really feel how thick it is. The delivery was really quick and arrived in a thick cardboard tube that withstood being thrown over my side garden gate!

From Modern Map Art:

“Remember the moments that changed your life forever – from the birth of a child, to a first kiss, or the night two became one, give the gift of a custom night sky to remember your special night”

Thank you for our Night Sky Star Map, it will live on the wall at the top of our staircase so I can look at it each night on my way to bed.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have enjoyed my review.

*I received this night sky star map in exchange for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
