Tomorrow is World Book Day and although my girls are not at school yet, we still have a huge love of books and want to get involved. Rainbow Designs have kindly sent us this adorable Peter Rabbit Bean Toy and Buggy Buddy Book to match to help us celebrate the day.
The Peter Rabbit Bean Toy and Buggy Buddy Book are suitable from birth, so would make a great first gift for World Book Day. The book is just the right size for tiny hands, and in the case of my teething 10 month old perfect for gnawing on!
The strap will come off the book if it needs a clean or they can look at the book without the strap getting in the way. It also doubles up as a teether!
I was a huge Peter Rabbit fan as a child, so I love to share the Beatrix Potter series with my girls. They are perfect books for story time.
The Peter Rabbit Bean Toy contains a gentle soothing rattle and is hand washable. Sensory play encourages children to enjoy using their senses, I know little miss baby Dottie loves to shake hers around her ears! Shes also very inquisitive and loves to inspect every toy she has. Deep in thought!

We did nothing in and of works book day. I work in a special school so anything it off the ordinary doesn’t work very well.

Leo dressed as as Fireman Sam, Daisy was Alice in Wonderland and Piper wanted to be dressed a Barbie. I’m not sure Barbie was particularly appropriate for a book day but she was insistent and as it’s Barbie’s 60th birthday this year I thought ‘why not?’

We’re gonna be reading, like I spend most of my free time doing, and will be buying the kids a new book each as well as myself!
My eldest son dressed up as ‘Flat Stanley’ and my youngest as ‘Dinosaur Roar’. I work in a nursery school so dressed as Red Riding Hood and has a fun filled day reading the children’s favourite books.

We got some new bedtime books
As a visiting author I was in disguise too. But what does an author look like?
I told the children that I wasn’t the Lego lady today but was the bus story lady.
The children and staff in the schools I visited looked fantastic.
One school the children and staff dressed up in a wide variety of costumes, so many different but quite a few princess, superheros and Mary Poppins.
On Friday a whole ‘Pirate’ Accademy school complete with a formidable captain. Ohh Argh!
But great that the message was the same, reading is fun.
Even a library on a bus on Friday too. Just for me?
My little girl is 4 and she dressed up as Cinderella. She was super excited to go to school all dressed up.
My middle daughter dressed up as Alice in Wonderland but my twins, 11,didn’t want to dress up in costumes so they made themselves a golden ticket and went as winners of Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory competition…
I took my little girl to our local library for their world book day event we had such a lovely time
We enjoyed reading a few books for world book day together as a family.

Helped put together a ‘story prop box’ for ‘Whatever Next’ by Jill Murphy (cardboard box, teddy, mini-teddy, silver wellies, colander, owl, small picnic hamper and cloth, picture of the moon and a pack of biscuits 😀 )
My 14 week old hasn’t dressed up today but we have had a lovely afternoon reading The Hungry Caterpillar 🙂
