Young children don’t breastfeed forever. Eventually, they need to begin eating solid foods. One effective approach for transitioning children onto solid food is baby-led weaning, or BLW. If you have a house that’s filled with flowers in glass vases, then sooner or later your child is going to want to investigate and will inevitably knock a vase or two down. If they are glass, then this could lead to them seriously hurting themselves. Plastic vases are a much safer option because if they do fall off, nothing is going to break. While plastic vases might not look the best, you only have to use them for a short time. When your child’s a little older, you can begin using glass ones again.
Switch Extenders
A big problem for a lot of children is being unable to reach the light switch, especially in their bedrooms. If your child is too short to reach their light switch, then consider investing in a switch extender. A switch extender is a device that attaches to a light switch and has a pole coming down that a child can pull in order to turn the light on. If you cannot find a switch extender, then an alternative is to invest in a wooden stool and put it on the floor in front of your child’s light switch.
Door Cushions
Children tend to slam doors. A good way to prevent them from doing this is to install door cushions, which are cushions that fit around the side of the door, preventing children from being able to close it. Door cushions will also stop your child from locking themselves in any room.
