I have been trying to write this post for a few days now. But as usual there has been so much Christmas stuff to do that time has been short. Anyway I was tagged by the wonderful Claire from The Pramshed to answer these questions about my Christmas.
Christmas is a very special time of the year for my family as my older sister comes home from Canada where she has lived for 10 years now. My mum has always said that we need to always get together at Christmas. That one special time of the year when we make family memories. Catch up. Eat lots of great food. Not forgetting the family tradition of always watching Top of the Pops and the Queen’s speech while stuffing down Christmas pudding.
What’s your favourite Christmas Movie?
Oh that would have to be The Grinch. I just love it, the big kid I am!
Have you ever had a white Christmas?
No never. I think there might have been a white Boxing day when I was a kid, or somewhere around that date. I would love to see a white Christmas though.
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
This will be my second having lunch away from my parents. But since we had baby girl earlier in the year we decided that we would visit both sets of parents then come home to our own Christmas dinner.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
The Pogues, Fairytale in New York. It’s a wicked song! it’s great to sing-along to in the car.
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
No never ever. I have always worked Christmas Eve so it’s not Christmas until Christmas day for me.
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Umm maybe… Dancer, Donner, Blitzen, Cupid, Ruldolph, Prancer, Vixen.. Is there anymore?
What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
Like I mentioned earlier Top of the Pops and the Queen. Plus making our own new traditions with Baby girl.
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Fake. It’s a black fake one with silver decorations. When me and my husband got together we started buying one beautiful silver tree decoration each year so we have 9 so far. One for each year we have been together.
What is your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?
Stollen cake. I will travel to the ends of the earth to find a decent stollen cake!
Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
I have always loved giving. Throughout the year I enter competitions for things my family would like/need so if I’m lucky to win for them that’s what I give.
What is the best Christmas present you ever received?
My Kindle from my then boyfriend now husband.
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Austria. I have always wanted to go there to the Christmas markets. Then to have a wonderful Christmas there in the mountains.
Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I’m useless. My husband wraps everything for me. I always try to get him to wrap his own presents from me!!
What makes the holidays special for you?
Being with family, exchanging gifts and of course yummy food!
Thanks Claire for nominating me for this tag. It’s a little late to nominate anyone else now as I’m sure everyone is very busy with Christmas preparations.
I wish every single one of you a very Merry Christmas and a Fantastic New Year. Thanks very much for staying with me over the past year and hopefully you will all come back and follow my blog in the New Year.
