It’s not easy to get rid of things in your home that you are attached to, but recognising that your house is overloaded in clutter should give you the incentive to get moving. You need to make life simple, and living in clutter is not simple – it’s stressful. You may have lived in a cluttered environment for years, but that doesn’t mean that you should continue it. How many times have you uttered these words? How many times have you thought about keeping the go-go boots and the leg warmers just in case you may use them again one day? You know that you won’t and the whole world knows that you won’t but you keep it anyway. If you want to keep the throwback clothes, why not invest in secure, affordable storage for the future instead? This way, you can keep the things that you love and not clutter up the house. If you don’t want to pay for storage, you probably don’t want those throwback clothes at all!

You’re Feeling Guilty

Psst, here’s a secret: you don’t have to keep something just because someone you once knew gave it to you. If you have a lot of clutter because of gifts and donations you’ve accepted in the past, it’s always difficult to let those go. However, you do not need to keep things for years just because they were gifts. Sift through it all and donate those gifts onto other people who may need them.

It’s Sentimental Stuff

Photos, mementos, ornaments – we attach our feelings to all of these things.
