Back in November we were asked to review the private dining experience with our very own private chef in collaboration with La Belle Assiette . We had our evening booked in for Saturday just gone, it was a blustery rainy Saturday night so we were glad to not be going out. That’s the beauty of having a chef come round and cook in your own kitchen. We didn’t have to worry about childcare, getting a taxi and could have a drink if we wished with high quality food in the comfort of our own home. Obviously I can’t drink as I’m pregnant!
Our Chef Daniel Kerr arrived in plenty of time before our guests arrived. I showed him briefly around our kitchen where the pots and pans were and left him to get on with the dinner. He brought all the fresh ingredients with him which were local to us. I’m all about local produce as Cornwall produces such high quality food all around us.

Here was our menu:
Rye Sourdough with Cornish butter and Cornish Seasalt, oil and a spice mix
Cauliflower Veloute with Truffle oil
Pickled Beetroot (Vegan)
Starter
Newlyn Mackerel with Salt Baked Celeriac, Granny Smith Apple, Sorrel and Dill
Charred Heritage Carrot with Blood Orange, Bulgar Wheat and Pickled Carrot (Vegan)
Main
Launceston Duck with Confit Leg, Heritage Carrot and Rainbow Chard
Miso-glazed Aubergine with Israeli Cous Cous, Pomegranate and Almond (Vegan)
Dessert
Coconut and Lime Pannacotta with Passionfruit, Mango and Coriander (Vegan)
Daniel was happy to ask any questions we asked and was very forthcoming with the origin of the food telling us exactly where he sourced it from. I arranged the menu with him before the night so we knew what we were having. One of my guests is Vegan so Daniel arranged a menu for her that was just as delicious – I tried it myself!

This evening was Daniel’s validation dinner with La Belle Assiette so we also had a professional photographer come and join us in the kitchen. I loved the atmosphere of the evening, it was great fun, lots of laughs, exceptional food and Daniel did all the washing up before he left!

It was our first experience of having a meal prepared at home with a professional chef and I would highly recommend it. It was a very enjoyable experience with fantastic high quality food without leaving the comfort of our home.
Of course I couldn’t not show you the photos of our exceptional quality food from a chef who has previously worked in a Michelin starred restaurant alongside Tom Aikens!

If you are looking for a fantastic meal cooked in your own home maybe for an anniversary or a party, with no dishes at the end I would highly recommend La Belle Assiette to find a private chef in your area.
I would like to say a huge thanks to La Belle Assiette, Daniel Kerr and Ben the photographer for a memorable evening.
I hope you have enjoyed today’s post, I know I have reminiscing over the food!
Thanks for stopping by today.

That looks amazing. I reckon I’d be too embarrassed to let a chef going into my kitchen! It’s need a deep clean before.
Haha my husband and I spent an hour cleaning before he came but I forgot the oven, it was in a state! Nevermind! xx
It’s a fantastic idea. The perfect service makes it a wonderful experience!
