We love the outdoors. Here in Cornwall, we have cold wet Autumn and Winter seasons so you need to dress accordingly. As a plus-size woman, I sometimes struggle to get comfy outdoor wear that is good quality and will last. I was offered the chance to browse online at Regatta Great Outdoors to see what I could find useful for this Winter. Here are my women’s comfy Winter outdoor clothing ideas.
I’m not a natural model by any means, and I lack confidence so you don’t see me in a lot of photos, but you get the idea of what I’m trying to get across in these below!

Waterproof Jackets
With a large top half, I struggle to find jackets that I can zip up if I have a bulky jumper underneath. This one is a generous size. It’s a gorgeous rubberised waterproof raincoat jacket in a transparent ceramic mint colour. It’s perfect for the school run as it repels water, has large pockets for the keys, and has a peaked hood! I’ve discovered it’s vitally important to have a decent waterproof jacket for the school walk every day, twice a day. My old one leaked!

Woolly Hat
I love a good old woolly hat. It’s needed for the coastal walks by the sea and the countryside rambles when the wind is blowing a hooley!

Gilet
I always feel the cold, so a gilet like this black blackcurrant fleece one is perfect for keeping my core warm. It’s ideal to wear under a jacket when the temperature drops, or over a hoodie or lighter top/jumper.

Hooded Fleece
My favourite things to wear are hoodies. Easy to pop on and they go with jeans – my choice of casual wear. I particularly like this shade of khaki, which is great for Autumn and a redhead like me! It’s super soft, lightweight yet warm and comfy. I don’t normally put up the hood unless I’m caught out in a shower, but this one is really nice with the wraparound hood design with a tonal drawcord adjuster.

It was totally coming out of my comfort zone to pose for these photos, but I did it. Now imprinted on my blog forever!! I need to get Mr B trained in photography – he’s very tall and takes the photos from his view, hence the looking down at my position! Oh, and if you love my brown boots, as much as I do they are from Hotter – last year’s Autumn/Winter range. There are so comfy and perfect for wider calves.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you’ve enjoyed this post.

Great photos, and great practical clothing for Autumn / Winter. Well Done!
I’m a firm believer in dressing for the weather and the temperatures and my wardrobe is much like yours.
We live in Lancashire and also get very wet and cold winters. We enjoy going to the park so always have to wrap up warm before heading out.
