A cosy night in is a perfect way to relax and de-stress. To make your house feel cosy and comforting, you need to create the perfect atmosphere. As the evenings get darker and colder, we all want to cosy up and chill out, so I’m going to put together a few tips on how to create the perfect cosy night in for one.
The key to creating a cosy atmosphere is to use things that make you feel comfortable, like candles or putting the fire on. Wearing comy women’s loungewear is also very important for your body and mind. You can also use lights, soft music, blankets and pillows or even scented candles to get the desired effect.

Comfy Clothes
Wearing warm snuggly clothes is at the top of the list for a perfect cosy night in for one. Find the ideal pair of pyjamas. These must be warm, soft and slightly oversize to relax in. I’m in love with this star print pyjama set in grey/back! Team your PJs with a fleecy hoody for ultimate comfort or a super soft women’s dressing gown. Getting snuggly in warm nightwear is key for your night in without your bra or jeans!

Don’t neglect your toes, a pair of thick cosy socks or slippers are needed!

Living Room
Your surroundings are important to create a relaxing atmosphere. I suggest making your sofa the focal point and pile it up with fluffy cushions and faux-fur throws. Don’t forget a footstool for putting your feet up! Use a side table to put your drink, snacks and chocolates on!
You will need some kind of relaxing lighting to rest your eyes. I adore fairy lights or scented candles to create this effect. If you are lucky enough to have a fireplace, (many new builds like my house don’t have one!) put the fire on. Alternatively, if you are not watching the TV, pop a fireplace YouTube video on to create the fireplace effect.
Food/Snacks
You have to have some kind of food/snacks for your cosy night in. Something sweet to nibble like toffee popcorn is always a good one while watching a movie. I love a box of chocolates!

Drinks
Treat yourself to a special hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows or your favourite tea in the best mug while you relax. If I’m eating a lot of chocolates I personally love a healthy smoothie to sit back with. It’s all about balance, isn’t it?
Movies/Box Sets To Watch
If you are looking to have a cosy night in by yourself, the best movies to watch are films like The Lake House, Practical Magic, Dirty Dancing or Sweet Home Alabama. My mum would be suggesting classics like Gone With The Wind and North and South! Maybe you are into James Bond films, they are great to binge on!
These box sets are also great to binge-watch on streaming networks: Stranger Things, Breaking Bad, The Crown, The Rings of Power, and Game of Thrones.
Music/Podcasts/Audiobooks
If you are looking for a relaxing evening without the TV on, you could listen to soft chill-out music while reading a good book. Listening to your favourite podcasts or audiobooks are another great things to do.

Mindfulness Activities
Colouring, journaling, and doing puzzles are examples of practising mindfulness and unwinding. Turn off your phone and relax. Meditate and reflect on your busy life. Take a few moments to relax and clear your mind.
Ending your cosy night in with mindfulness activities/techniques will help you to sleep better at night.
