If you are a Millennial or part of Gen Z, it is safe to assume you have young children. This means you are grown up and can probably no longer get away with most of the things you loved to do as a child. But that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop since you can relive your retro memories through the eyes of your children and inspire incredible family bonds in them too.

Playful Activities
There’s a ton of stuff you probably did when you were a child. Biking through the woods with friends, laser tag and skating. Yet you may look a bit weird doing them now. Fortunately, good ideas last forever. Things like learning how to roller skate are up there with riding a bike for kids, even today. So, take a dip in the pool of nostalgia and get out the old knee pads.
Retro Video Games
Is there any better way to relive your youth than through video games? No, not those devastatingly boring shooters that cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Real video games are made of blocks that look like the doodles of a schoolboy. Retro video games are a real niche these days, and you can get classic consoles such as NES, SNES and Mega Drive for modern TV.s.
Classic Movies
We all have favourite movies from our childhood. Most will recall the first time we watched ET. or the sublime animation of Beauty & The Beast. It’s a beautiful thing to relive your best magical movie moments through the eyes and experience of your own children. It’s even better to keep an eye on local cinemas playing special matinees on the weekend as most do.
Fun Beside the Sea
Popcorn, hot dogs, cotton candy and wet sand. The delightful aroma of the seaside funfair. Of course, there are large capacity theme parks like Alton Towers, but they aren’t the same as the seaside holiday funfair. All the charm belongs to the seaside rides. It’s incredible to see the glow and smile on a toddlers face riding the carousel as you remember how fun it was for you as a child.
Toys and Games
As classic video games, there are the board games that came before them. Monopoly and Cluedo are prime examples of great family classics. These are available in various iterations for younger children, such as the Barbie version of Monopoly. Yet there are some so good they don’t need to change. For example, a rainy Saturday afternoon is well spent just as well, sinking battleships.
Quality Time
Nostalgic retro memories aren’t solely dependent on activities and games. Family outings to extraordinary places are perfect for building tradition and forming vital familial bonds. How nice it is when you take your children through the winding nature trails you enjoyed with your parents. Or walking the grounds of a local manor house open to the public, with a little bit of a history lesson sneaked in for good measure. Or talking about all the old retro chocolates and sweets you used to eat as a kid.
Sing and Dance
Feeling funny and funky as a family? Then sing, dance, shout and let it all out. Partying like this with the little ones is so much fun, especially when you load your favourite 80s and 90s pop songs and belt them out one by one. Karaoke machines are way cheap these days, and even if you don’t have one, you can load up YouTube for almost any video you can think of. Expect a knock from the neighbours, though.
