The Sunday Pregnancy Diaries #3

It’s been nearly a month since my last update. Now I’m at the 24 week stage.  Although I still haven’t seen my midwife, that’s not until the end of the month when I’m 28 weeks. I have been in to see a consultant. He went over the details of my last pregnancy with baby girl. It’s funny as I don’t remember some of the things he read from my notes about the previous pregnancy, I must have been out of it!

The Sunday Pregnancy Diaries #3 - planned c-section

Anyway he went through all the options because I had a previous emergency c-section and came to the conclusion that the less risky thing to do would be to have a planned c-section. To be honest it’s a huge relief off our shoulders. I had a terrible time at baby girl’s birth due to the failed induction, so the safest for baby and I is to have everything planned.  View Post

Planning a Nursery for a New Arrival

I remember planning a nursery for baby girl, in our old house. Now baby number 2 is on the way and we are in a new house I’m going to start all over again. It’s a little too soon to find out what we are having, but it would be easier if it’s a girl due to all the girly stuff we have already.

Here is another one of my mood boards to give some ideas of what’s needed in a nursery.

The Sunday Pregnancy Diaries #1

I have something to share with you all. I’m pregnant with baby b number 2! This time we got pregnant so quickly, in fact within a month of trying. Why couldn’t it have been this easy first time around?

It took us 3 years to get baby girl. We are so excited and I still cannot quite believe it, but then reality hits when my head is down the toilet for the third time that day.

This time I have been struck down by horrendous morning sickness. I have been sick many times each and every day for about 7 weeks. It’s tiring and draining, but I have found my inner strength from somewhere to get up carry on with work and keep everything the same for baby girl.

She has taken to holding my arm or holding my shirt when I’m being sick. It’s so cute. She will be around 2 years and 2 months old when baby no 2 arrives. I’m very pleased with that age gap.

How Can One Person Be So Unlucky At Conceiving?

*Trigger Warning*`

As I’m writing this I’m having yet another suspected miscarriage. Last Wednesday I found the courage to take a pregnancy test. I was 4 days late, I knew something was up as I had been feeling rubbish for the past few days.

If you don’t know my history I had 3 miscarriages before baby girl was born in 2016. So I know exactly what it’s like to miscarry. I have spent the last few years wondering why I’m unlucky at conceiving.

The test last Wednesday was what I call a strong positive test. The lines were very strong and not faint at all.

positive pregnancy test - unlucky conceiving

For a few days we were so excited that baby girl was going to get a sibling. Then Saturday happened. I was at work for 5:30am felt a bit rough all day, but by the afternoon I felt cold and shivery. I knew straight away that it was happening again. On all 3 of my previous miscarriages I got cold and shivery which I’m guessing is my body rejecting what is not meant to be.

World Breastfeeding Week 2017 Chance to Choose

As a breastfeeding mum, this week is a special week – World Breastfeeding Week running from the 1st – 7th August. This time last year I was in the full swing of breastfeeding a 6 month old, now 12 months down the line I’m still breastfeeding baby girl, but only once a day now and I’m sure that won’t be for much longer as she’s weaning herself off.

Breast Pumps Direct have launched an innovative new program called Chance to Choose. This program allows mums to “trade-up” their insurance-provided breast pump so they can get a premium pump that works best for them at a special discounted price. In addition, their traded in pump will be re-serviced and donated to a mum in need.  Many mums across the globe do not have access to a breast pump and are often left to mix formula with unsafe drinking water. This program gives mums the chance to choose breastfeeding and give their baby the health benefits that come with breastfeeding.
