Peony in Black - The Shirt Company

This collar is not quite as formal as the Viola. It’s known as the Peony. Very pretty in black. The Shirt Company really has lots of pretty shirts and tops available on their online shop.

Why not take a look and treat someone this Christmas?

Passionfruit and Lemon Curd from Scarlett & Mustard

I love all types of curds. On toast, great for using in cakes oh and my favourite – on scones with Cornish clotted cream. Yum! This passionfruit and lemon curd is amazing from Scarlett & Mustard. Fresh and zingy. A great little gift. Why not add their blackcurrent & Star Anise, Lime & Mint and Toffee Apple curds to a little gift basket?

The Book Of Everyone

A couple of weeks back I reviewed The Book of Everyone. These books really do make great personalised gifts. This one is for my husband for Christmas, but I’ve gone and ordered one for my sister as well.

I love the way they take you on a journey back in time. You can learn about the day you were born, What was the number one single, amongst other facts.

A great gift for that person you never know what to buy for them.

The Neo Lava Lamp Review and Giveaway

When I was younger I remember my older sister getting a lava lamp for Christmas. It was the most wonderful thing ever. I used to stare at it for ages watching the molten wax rising up and falling down. Over the years I haven’t really thought about getting a lava lamp myself, although I would love one!

When the lovely people at Mathmos contacted me about the release of their new lava lamp called the Neo, I thought fantastic! My chance to finally have my own lava lamp, and to really explore how they work. Lava lamps are a beautiful work of science.

The London Guide: With And Without The Kids

Heading into London can be a wonderful break for you and the kids. After all, there is so much to do in the capital. London can also be the ideal destination for a romantic weekend away while the kids are with the Grandparents! We’ve put together an awesome guide to the best city in the world for couples and kids. Choose your own adventure!

With The Kids

There are so many awesome things for the kids to do and see in London. One of the most popular attractions continues to be the waxworks at Madame Tussaud’s. The models on show are regularly updated to feature the most current versions of the most popular celebrities. This means you are pretty much guaranteed to find characters your kids know and love. Just a few doors down are some great family restaurants. Many are themed. You might want to eat in the jungle, complete with lifesize models and sound effects. Or maybe one of the sports-themed restaurants is more your thing?

For a good view, try the London Eye. This all-weather ride lifts you up above the Thames opposite the Houses of Parliament. On a clear day, you can see pretty far. The famous BT Tower is visible and so is St. Paul’s Cathedral. And how often do you get to look down on the Westminster Palace? It’s not the cheapest attraction but its location is handy for art galleries and centres of culture along South Bank.

What is Bonfire Night & Why Celebrate 5th November?

I can’t believe it’s coming around to bonfire night again. It just seems 5 minutes ago that I was 7 months pregnant this time last year when it was bonfire night.

I first learned about bonfire night and the history around it when I was in primary school many moons ago. Guy Fawkes tried blowing up the houses of parliament with 36 barrels of gunpowder. But he was not the ringleader in the gunpowder plot. He was just the poor guy who got caught trying to ignite the explosives!

Today in the UK we celebrate 5th November by letting off fireworks having massive bonfires and throwing straw dummies called ‘guy’s’ onto the bonfires. The fireworks are let off to represent the explosives that were never used by the plotters.

JORD Wood Watch Review & Giveaway

I was jumping up and down flapping my arms when I was asked if I wanted to review a JORD watch!

These watches are something else! JORD specialise in sophisticated wooden watches. Beautiful timepieces made from various types of wood. So with the graining you can use each piece is truly unique. They have a fabulous men’s and women’s section. With lots of different and unusual watch designs.

I honestly still can’t believe I’m reviewing such a cool watch.  I didn’t know you could get actually wooden watches.

The Frankie series which is the one I’m reviewing, are stunning watches on your wrist with all the links made from Zebrawood and even the face casing. The watches internal workings are a Swiss Movement which of course one of the best in the world.
