Giveaway ~ School For Stars by Holly & Kelly Willoughby

I have had such a huge amount of success with my last couple of giveaways that I have decided to run another one for you. This time it’s a chance to win a paperback copy of the children’s bestselling book School for Stars by sisters Holly and Kelly Willoughby. It’s 2 books in 1, containing the first two books in the School for Stars series. The book is aimed at 8 to 12 year olds although I do like a good school series myself.
The School For Stars series is all about twins, Molly and Maria Fitzfoster and their new friend Pippa Burrows and their school lives at the prestigious acting/dance/drama school called L’Etoile, School for stars. The trio share the same dream of becoming superstars, while being different in their own ways.
For a chance to win this book, please fill in the Rafflecopter below. Due to postage costs this will be a UK only competition.

It’s all about the cake! – Review and Giveaway

I am a huge cake lover as you know from my one of my older posts, on Gluten-Free Cake  and when bakerdays asked me if I wanted to review a letterbox cake for them I was so excited! They said I could browse their website and choose any design I wanted or they even said I could upload my own photo to put on a letterbox cake!
This is what arrived through my letterbox! The letterbox cake was beautifully packaged in a compact box with lots of other bits and bobs as well. There was a couple of candles and balloons with a cute note card. The cake itself was well protected in a gorgeous tin, which had little holes in so the cake could breathe. This little touch shoes me how much bakerdays care about the delivery of the cake.
The leaflet enclosed describes what bakerdays offer on their site. Including what size cakes they make and their 6 delicious flavours of cake. They are Vanilla, Chocolate, Fruit, Half & Half, Gluten Free and Dairy Free. So something for everyone!
Bakerdays offer loads of different designs for birthday cakes which they will personalise for you as well. You can check out their designs here. I will be checking out the gorgeous cupcakes they also offer for upcoming birthday parties!
So lets get back to the cake I chose! This is the design I wanted on my cake, I chose it from this range but adapted it for myself. The lovely people at bakerdays added the cute little message on the side! I love it!
I got sent the amazing chocolate chip cake, it is very moist and rich, perfect for a chocolate cake! This letterbox sized cake is perfect for 3-4 portions and is priced at £14.99.
I love this idea from bakerdays of sending a loved one a cake for what ever occasion you need.
Now here’s the giveaway!
I have been offered to give my readers the chance to win their own letterbox cake.

Please complete the Rafflecopter below to enter.

Book Review: Not A Word About Love & Giveaway

I have been given the chance to read and review an ebook copy of Not A Word About Love by the lovely Hana Goldberg. It is a sensual story about a search for love for a lonely woman called Maya and her trip to Thailand on a journey of self discovery.
Maya is a woman in her late 30’s and with her husband’s wishes embarks on a holiday on her own to write her screenplay and to help with her depression. She is struggling with accepting her unexciting life and dull marriage to Uri.

On the plane to Thailand she ends up sitting next to a man called Joe who she soon becomes obsessed with and they end up having an affair. Maya meets up him various times throughout the book and eventually realises what she is throwing away when she wakes up on the streets of Thailand, lonely and longing for her life back home.

Hana Goldberg keeps the reader guessing in the beginning as you have no idea what Maya will do next. Goldberg portrays Maya as a frustrated woman with her life and this trip gives her the freedom to be let loose. Although I don’t condone what Maya does you cannot but like her character.
I love the way the author describes Thailand, it makes you feel that you are on the streets with Maya and on her journey to find happiness in life. The settings are very well described and the book well written.

My only dislike is that the book seemed very short when I read it on my kindle, I would have loved for it to have been longer! But looking back, it was 265 pages so I obviously enjoyed it so much I didn’t want it to finish.
This is a book for a reader looking for a strong character based book and perfect for holiday reading. I think it is a book that you can go back and read again one day, and it’s one I will.
I have given Not a Word about Love 5 out of 5 stars.

I thought having 24 wins in March was amazing (Monthly Wins: March) but last month was totally extraordinary! I have worked so hard over the last month entering well over 1000 competitions, writing lots of blog posts, catching up on reading and working full time as well. It has been very hard but very rewarding. So my total haul of wins last month was 31.
Here is the list of 31 competition wins from April, they have mostly come from Twitter wins with a couple of Goodreads and Facebook wins thrown in and the best wins of all, two surprise wins, where I have no idea where they came from.

A Recipe Holder, The Pointless Book and a bottle of Pepsi!

While I was off work last week I had more time to comp and therefore won a few more bits than usual. I do believe in putting in lots of effort entering comps will eventually bring rewards. My little belief is that comping is 90% effort and 10% luck! I say it all to my friends who think I’m lucky, and tell them I put the hours in entering and enter 100’s a day so luck isn’t a huge deal to do with it. The odds will be in your favour if you enter loads and loads!
So last week I had these bits and bobs arrive!  A gorgeous recipe book stand for the kitchen, a book called The Pointless Book 2, my cute little chocolate Easter egg, a football from Budweiser, So…..? body spray from their instagram comp (which is my first instagram win!), and a bottle of cherry Pepsi with my profile pic on!

The recipe book holder came from a competition with @CranksFood on Twitter. It is a gorgeous teal colour and with it being made of metal very sturdy.

The holder also came with three metal page markers with Starter, Main and Dessert written on them.
I won The Pointless Book 2 from a comp with WHSmith on Twitter. Its a great fun looking book full of dares, challenges, jokes and crazy activities!

It is written by Alfie Deyes and is the second book from his brand of nothingness! It looks great fun I can’t wait to have a read and attempt the hilarious activities! A perfect time wasting book!
Thanks for having a read of my wins, I hope you are enjoying my blog. You can also find me on bloglovin

Giveaway ~ The White Princess by Philippa Gregory

A while back on TV, I was totally hooked on the The White Queen television series based on The Cousin’s War series by Philippa Gregory. I don’t normally watch a TV series or film before I read the book, actually I try not to as I don’t want to spoil the book! But this TV series I really got into and learned to love the characters, so I went out to and find all the books in the series. These are the one’s I have at the moment in the series. They are shown in chronological order not by publication date. I am yet to read the next book in the series which is The King’s Curse. That is another one for my must read list!.
I have recently finished reading The White Princess and so wanted to do a giveaway to give you all a chance to win a copy of it.
The White Princess tells us the story of Elizabeth of York and her marriage to Henry Tudor who is from the rivial house of Tudor. Henry Tudor had to marry Elizabeth to help unify the country which had been divided for more than 20 years, but she still loves his enemy Richard III.
To enter the competition to win a paperback copy of The White Princess, please fill out the Rafflecopter below. UK only.

Good Luck to everyone!
