Now baby girl is finding books very interesting, I’m always keeping my eyes and ears open for new books for us to look at together. When I was asked if I wanted to join the blog tour for There’s Not One we were so excited.
Book Description
This joyous debut from well-known writer and editor Jennifer Higgie (Frieze Magazine) celebrates both the individual and the diversity of the world around us. In kaleidoscopic colour, Higgie takes young readers on a journey from some of life’s most important things (baked beans!) to some of life’s biggest wonders (stars!). The perfect early picture book for budding art lovers!
My Review
There’s Not One is written by Jennifer Higgie. It’s a wonderful early picture book. The author takes us on a journey from baked beans, raindrops, flowers and to one of the biggest wonders – stars! I love the artist’s illustrations. It makes the book fun, colourful and eye-catching.
The message that the book tells us is that there are many things in the world but only one of us. We are all individuals, unique.
The book is in hard back so makes it sturdy and longer lasting for little ones. The paper quality and feel of the books makes it unlikely to tear as easily.
I think There’s Not One is a fabulous book to read along with your little ones. Why not get them to count all the things on the pages? It truly is a great book to share.
“There’s Not One is inspired by Matisse’s cut outs, and by the books of Eric Carle and Leo Lionni. It’s is a joyous celebration of both the individuality of each child and the diversity of the world around us.”
