Today it’s my turn to be on the blog tour for The Distance Between Us by Georgie Capron. Before you read my review here is a little about this fantastic read.

Book Description

Tasha knows that she should count her blessings: married for eleven years, mother to three healthy children, she should be content with her lot. However, feelings of frustration have settled over her like a dark cloud. Despite living under the same roof and sharing the same bed, Tasha has never felt so distant from her husband, Charlie. She feels worn down by the mental load of motherhood, drowning in the never-ending chores that keep the family and household afloat. Most of all she worries that her once happy marriage is slipping away from her.

Tasha longs for something to change, but when change comes calling will it really be the answer she was hoping for? And is it possible to fall in love with the same person twice?

My Review

A modern day love story about family, marriage and risking it all to have it all.

This statement is completely correct. The distance between us is a modern day love story. The pressures that come with today’s families are rife. The main characters, Tasha and Charlie have been married for 11 years and have 3 kids, Flora, Bella and Max. Tasha gave up work as a GP to raise her children, she is unhappy and tired and fed up with being taken for granted. She didn’t enjoy her job as a GP and feels being a stay at home mum isn’t what she thought it would be.  Especially as she feels neglected by her husband.

When neighbour Javier moves in next door, Tasha and him get very close and she sleeps with him. For me this is when the story steps up a gear. She starts to feel guilty, Charlie finds out and the action begins.

I thought the plot was fantastic, well written and totally looking forward to the authors next books.

The Distance Between Us gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.
