At the weekend, we grabbed our trainers, while the sun was out (and little wind!) and headed to the park armed with the Sky Rider Air Square from Wicked Uncle.
If you haven’t seen one before, the Air Square is exactly what it sounds like – a flying disc, but square! A funky twist on the classic frisbee, it instantly grabbed everyone’s attention with its bright, bold colours (perfect for spotting mid-flight!) and sleek, slightly futuristic design.
First Impressions
Straight out of the packaging, the Air Square feels sturdy but super light. It’s about 28cm x 28cm and weighs just 200g, making it really easy to throw – even for smaller hands! Plus, the soft, cushioned rubber rim means no sore fingers when you’re catching it at speed (that’s if you can catch it!!), which gets a huge thumbs up from us!
Let’s Fly!
Once we got throwing, the real fun began. The Air Square flies like an absolute dream. Just a simple flick of the wrist sent it gliding smoothly and steadily through the air, and when the wind helped, it felt like it could go for miles! (Well, almost… It’s officially got a range of up to 100 metres, depending on the weather and how many trees are in your way!)
We even started experimenting with trick shots – curving throws, loop-de-loops – you name it. It’s surprising how easy it is to get a bit creative once you get the hang of it. There were plenty of giggles as we all tried (and mostly failed!) to master the perfect mid-air catch.

We are keeping ours in the car boot so it’s always to hand when we get to the park! Just to add, you need a big open space to use, because it will fly……far!!!
