Book Description
“I am old. There was no one minute I was young and the next I tipped into the world of old women.
This book is about the joys and horrors of our old age. It will show you the uncensored reality of my experience and that of women who confided in me. You will find humour, despair, and some gritty bits but absolutely no euphemisms.
You will either say ‘Yes, that’s me!’ or ‘Thank goodness this hasn’t happened to me!”

My Thoughts
Sylvie Boulay’s “Beyond Beige” isn’t your everyday book about getting older. It’s like sitting down with your coolest aunt who tells it like it is, sharing all the nitty-gritty details about what ageing really looks like.
The book is filled with real stories and belly laughs, as Sylvie and other women spill the beans on their own experiences. It’s like a no-holds-barred chat over coffee, discussing everything from the unexpected perks to the not-so-glamorous sides of ageing that no one really talks about. It’s a refreshing, down-to-earth take that’ll have you nodding along and maybe even looking forward to your golden years with a bit of a cheeky smile!

Oh, and let’s not forget the illustrations in they’re a hoot! Picture this: quirky drawings that capture the laugh-out-loud moments of getting older, like accidentally putting on two different shoes or finding your glasses in the fridge. These sketches are like the cherry on top of Sylvie’s tales, bringing a light-heartedness to the pages that make the whole ageing thing feel like a shared joke among friends.
It’s like each illustration winks at you and says, “Yup, we’re all in this together, might as well have a giggle!” I absolutely loved this book and will pass it on to my older sister for a laugh!
