As you know I love to support small businesses, and recently, a fabulous unique business called Countdown Cards came to my attention. If you are parents of kids around the ages of 3-7 years old, then these Countdown Cards are for you!
Countdown Cards came about from a husband and wife team in Winchester. Their son Jago was disappointed to find no more windows to open on his Advent Calendar during Boxing Day one year, so they thought they would buy him a birthday advent card. But they couldn’t find one on the market!
Jago’s dad, a graphic designer, set about creating a fun, bright and appealing birthday countdown card. After many design ideas they settled on an unusual concertina fold card and 8 windows.
I think the concept is a genius idea. They can help to manage pre-birthday excitement. Encourage animal and number recognition. Give a fun and clear guide about the time leading up to the big day. Sharing on social media will act as a reminder to family and friends the birthday that is getting closer!
The cards are in bright colours, in 5 designs – Rocket, Caterpillar, Fairy Castle, Bus and Train. Something to suit all little tastes! Start at one end and work your way along each day opening a window to see the Countdown Creatures inside. Then there is a big window on the day of the birthday to open with everyone inside!
