Now I know baby girl is only 8 months old so way too early for potty training. Although Holly Willoughby did potty train her one year old son so she claimed earlier this year. As a new mum I honestly don’t have the foggiest idea when to start potty training. But I’m sure my mother’s instinct will kick in and I will know when she’s ready!
I know many of you are mum’s and some of you are around the potty training stage I expect, so when I was asked if I would like to review and host a giveaway for the Victoria Chart Company, I thought it would be a great idea. I’m sure you can also pass on some tips to me for when my time comes around…hint hint!
The Victoria Chart Company does quite a few reward charts for various things. Like sleep charts, tooth brushing charts and toddler charts. I think the idea behind these charts is amazing. The potty training chart was shortlisted in the Prima Mother & Pregnancy awards 2016. You can also pick up extra stickers from their online shop as well.
Included in the pack
So when I opened up the potty training pack it contained:
- Wall Chart
- 2 sheets of stickers – stars and smiley faces
- How to use booklet with tips and guidelines to get the best results
- Wipe clean pen
- Sticky fixing pads
The wall chart is very sturdy and I don’t see why not it couldn’t be used for future children.
It’s a great idea using stickers because all children love getting a sticker. They can see their progress as well.
What is good about the chart is that it can be used for grown-up toilets as well as using the potty for training.
This chart encourages and praises to help parents support children. I really do love this approach and know that this is how I will be learning baby girl through her potty training journey.
The stickers are in smiley faces and stars. You use the smiley faces each time your child does well. The gold stars are for when they do something exceptionally well. Can include an activity that they have done without being asked or reminded. Like using the potty by themselves or remembering to wash their hands.
I believe the chart is simple to understand but effective it what it aims to achieve. It’s bright and colourful and provides focus to help with the potty training journey.
Oh and as a little extra you can download a printable certificate when potty training has been completed from the Victoria Chart Company website. – A fantastic idea!

Everyones different and there is no right age as such its whenever the child is ready

My best tip is not to push it, you will know when your child is ready and when they are they will do it quickly

Don’t get too stressed if your little one is taking a long time to get the hang of using the potty. My eldest took to it straight away, however, my second daughter took longer. Every child is different and they will get the hang of it eventually.

I found bribes work well – especially chocolate buttons!!!
I also let my eldest choose her own big girl pants which I will do again soon for my almost 2 year old.

Take your time. Dont rush them. Do it when their ready and dont stress
No tips yet but I plan to potty train my boy in a few weeks time. Although I have been told to spend the week at home to work on it properly without distractions.

Wait until the child is ready. My daughter was over 3 when we finally mastered potty training. She just wasn’t ready before then. We have it all to do again with our 18 month old

I wish I had some, In fact I need some as im struggling. But I guess that you need to wait until they are ready.
Patience patience patience
My tip is to always show your child how enthusiastic you are about the progress they’re making.
We got my sons favourite teddy and sat it on him potty with a little syringe and made it look like it was going on the potty.
