Here are some tips on how to find postcard competitions.
A few weeks ago, I decided to start entering postcard competitions, because I realized that I had been missing out on entering some very big prizes! Silly me! A lot of the ITV TV competitions have now stopped their free online entry, and the only other methods of entry seemed to be through texts costing roughly £1.50 a text plus standard network rate, or phoning premium rate numbers, so postcard entries (the cheapest way) it is! The cost of a second class stamp is currently 53p but from 30th March Royal Mail is increasing the price to 54p. Before the price increases, I am going to head to the Post Office and stock up!
It is really easy to find postcard competitions, they are everywhere! You can find them in magazines, and local newspapers, but the best ones can be found while just watching TV! They are mostly shown onscreen during advert breaks or at the end of the programme. I always have my box of postcards and a pen beside me while watching TV. Oh and always have the Sky+ remote beside you to pause the TV while copying down the address!
When I decided I wanted to start entering postcard competitions, I had a look around online to find some lovely postcards to use. I came across these gorgeous Penguin ones, which had a different classic book cover on each one. It brought my two favourite hobbies together, reading books and entering competitions! I have found it very hard to send some of the postcards for competitions as they have been of my favorite book covers!
A postcard top tip! Always write your name and address at a right angle to the address the postcard is being sent, to avoid the postcards being returned to you!
