For many hard working individuals and families there is much excitement when thinking of where to go for a vacation. Los Angeles, California is a legendary destination as it is home to famous actors, actresses and a slew of other unique attractions. If you have been looking for a place to relax, you can get a Los Angeles beach house and slowly pass away each day or go out to explore if that if your preferred travel style.

If you do get your fill of beach time, there is always plenty going on in the bustling city of Los Angeles to keep yourself entertained. One of the great things about choosing LA as a vacation destination is that many of the activities and sights to see can hold interest for a wide variety of age groups. There are plenty of fun things to do all around the city.

Tips on planning a relaxing family vacation to Los Angeles

In case you are not a long term planner, have no fear. LAX is such a major airport hub that it is often possible to find plenty of last minute deals in and out to wherever you need to go. It never hurts to look for last minute deals on both accommodation and airfare.  No matter your planning style, here are some pointers to help keep you on track for a relaxing stay in sunny Los Angeles.

Find an Amazing Place to Sleep

So let’s get the bases covered first by finding an amazing place to stay.  If you are seeking to unwind and forget it about it all, what better way to do that than with an awesome place overlooking the ocean? At your whim, you can step outside and squish your toes into that warm sand. Little ones can build sand castles to their hearts content while big kids (and adults) can splash around and swim in the ocean.  During the night you can enjoy the calm as the rhythmic waves help transfer you to a deep sleep. Those feelings of zen should be how vacations feel.

Plan a Relaxing Day

If you do decide to rent a place by the beach, take full advantage of your location. Nothing says relax on a full day itinerary than, “beach day!” The great thing about a beach day is every one can do what they want. If someone wants to exercise they can go for a run or play Frisbee.  Other members of your group can simply pass the day away reading a book while drifting in an out of sleep listening to the waves. You can easily enjoy having a cooler full of goodies with you at the beach, or run back into your luxury pad and enjoy the convenience of being able to walk right out your door.

Prepare Awesome and Easy Food

If you do decide to rent a beach house most of them come with state of the art kitchens. You can put on an episode of “Master Chef” and cook up a storm to your hearts content. Or go the easy, no frills route and order take out. Other alternative options could be ordering groceries online and opting for home delivery. Plenty of people do this when they are tight on time or just want to make life a little easier on themselves. No matter if you want to enjoy creating fancy five course meals or just put your feet up and enjoy a simple take out meal, you can enjoy that sunset beach view. Be sure to keep plenty of healthy snacks on hand to check everyone’s energy and attitudes happy throughout the stay. Have some fun making creative fruit bowls to have both for display and function.

Pick a few Activities

Los Angeles has so many varied types of activities to choose from. A person could go all out and lose their head trying to tick them all off the list. Keep yourself sane and select a few that interests the majority of your group. Some of the favorites are:

Drive Sunset Boulevard – Sunset Boulevard might be one of the most iconic roads in America. This palm tree lined road has been bringing people down it’s lanes for decades. Spanning about 22 miles in total length, the road is also nicknamed ‘Guitar Row’ for the large number of guitar stores and music related businesses. Decide for yourself if you would like to drive it yourself or pay to go on a tour so then you can sit back, relax and take in all the sights without having to keep your eyes on the road.

Go to Universal Studios – Dubbed the entertainment capital of LA, a visit to Universal Studios must be on the list. Home to some of the most popular film and television shows, you can find amusement type rides based on programs like “The Simpsons,” “King Kong” and “The Mummy.” Woody Woodpecker is the official mascot, so be sure to keep your eyes out for him!

Go to Disneyland – Disneyland is a place for all ages. Kids love it because they can see their real time favorite heroes and characters. Adults love visiting because it can be a walk down memory lane. Plus finding Mickey Mouse and having your photo together can just be plain fun. If you have some older members in your group, don’t overlook attractions like the thrilling Space Mountain or the Indiana Jones Adventure. At Disneyland, there is something for everyone.

As you sift through all the different options you have for either a family trip or special retreat getaway for yourself and a special someone, don’t try to cram too much into one trip. Select a few ideas or simply just enjoy an amazing staycation along the beach in sunny California. Either way, it’s sure to be a grand time.
