Speck iPhone Case Review and Giveaway

Iphone’s are expensive smartphones and the majority of us own one. As the design of iPhone’s have changed over the years they have gone from quite a thick phone to now slim in design and quite fragile. Being a busy mum I need a tough case on my phone to protect it from being thrown – yes the toddler does throw it at times, to being dropped. I have accidentally dropped it many a time while getting the kids in the car. Each time I’ve picked it from the pavement I’ve winced incase the screen has shattered.

Along came Speck with their highly protective phone cases that feature stylish and slim designs, asking me if I would like to try one of their cases out. Of course I need one, so it’s some at the right time, as my old one has seen many a better day.

Now I have a fairly old iPhone a 6s to be precise, and I’m going to upgrade next month. What I was worried about was that I will be getting a new case for an old phone I won’t be using after another month. Well the beauty of the Speck case that was sent to me is that it’s suitable for the 6s, 7 and 8. So as I’m planning on getting an iPhone 8 it will still be very much used.

So what makes this iPhone case different?

The Speck Presidio clear case provides two layers of protection with impactium clear absorb and disperse shock. It has a raised bezel surface that protects the screen. You could say it was designed for impact, due to it being drop tested at 8 feet.

All Speck cases undergo extensive 3rd party and internal testing.

They look at:

  • Extreme drops
  • Antenna interference
  • Cracks and abrasions
  • Extreme temperatures
  • Button responsiveness
  • UV-yellowing resistance

My Thoughts

The case is soft to the touch but feels grippy so won’t slip through your hands when in use. It does feel tough and I’m pretty sure it could withstand an 8 foot drop protecting a phone. Being honest here, I don’t fancy dropping my phone from that height! It does fit my iPhone 6s perfectly, and it made my phone feel secure inside. I’m very pleased with it and I can see it lasting for years.

  1. Could really do with something tough like this. I am always leaving my phone around and it often falls out of my pocket!

  2. My husband needs a new phone case, just had to buy him a new phone because he smashed his by dropping it. Hes so clumsy.

  3. I love both the sound and the look of these cases! My last iphone broke because of what I think was an inadequate case (it ended up very very subtly slightly bent – not even noticeable unless you were looking for it – but it must have affected something inside and one day it just totally died)

  4. My brother has just upgraded his phone and given my daughter his old one. She’s thrilled with it as I could never afford iPhones for my kids. Would be great to win her a lovely new case for it. Fingers crossed.
