- Lot size. You want to have the right location, but it’s going to mean nothing if the lot of the house is too small for your needs. You need a big enough piece of land that you can build as you want to and you want to know that you have enough space to do everything that you need to do. Check out the lots that are available in the area you want, and make sure that you plan for the lot size that will suit your family. You need to also ensure that there is enough privacy on the lot that you choose, especially as some can be oddly shaped!
- Maintenance. When you choose to buy a house, you need to know that it’s going to be easy for you to maintain. It’s nice to have huge sweeping homes, but if you can’t keep up with the housework then there is not much point at all! When you are looking at your property options, you should consider that there are a lot of things that may need to be fixed from time to time. Get to know how much maintenance should cost you and add it to your estimated costs every month.
- Bedrooms. Before you sink a ton of cash into a house, make sure that it has enough bedrooms. There’s no use in choosing a one-bed home if you know you may need more in a year or two. Save yourself the stress of doing the process over again!
