I have had a fascination with coloured glass windows for as long as I can remember as a kid. There is something so peaceful about them and they brighten up dull buildings. This one is in a listed building that has been turned into a dental practice.

I think my curiosity came from Sundays going to the local chapel and Sunday School when I was a child and seeing all the beautiful stained glass windows.

This beautiful engine house and chimney stack is at the back of the car park at my local supermarket. I have walked past it hundreds of times but never really stopped and looked at the beauty and history behind it.
The site of this engine house is called Taylor’s Shaft and was started in 1922, after flooding ocurred in nearby winding shafts. The 110ft tall chimney stack next to it was actually built for the engine’s boilers before the engine house was built itself. The letters EPAL built into the stack with white bricks stand for East Pool and Agar Limited.
The East Pool mine was first used to collect copper and later on tin from the early 18th century until 1945.
At the Taylor’s shaft site there is a National Trust discovery centre called Cornish Mines and Engines -it is currently closed due to still being in the Winter season. It will reopen on 22nd March 2016.

This week #MySundayPhoto is taken down by Malpas River in Truro. It was taken a few weeks back on a mild but dull day. I love the reflections of the boats in the water. A black and white version looked much better than the colour one.

I find this area a very relaxing place to walk long. There is something very calming about the gentle breeze blowing through the boat sails and all you hear is a soft clanging and creaking sound of chains around the boats.
I hope you all enjoy your Sunday.

One cold frosty morning this week with a view from my bedroom window. It was so cold I didn’t really feel like getting up!

There is something beautiful about cold, crisp January mornings. It is actually on of my favourite months of the year. The weather can be so changeable here in Cornwall. For example yesterday was icy and the car was needed to be defrosted, yet today I have looked out the window and its a very foggy slightly warmer morning. I live in part of a valley so it can be foggy down here and bright and sunny when you get up to the main road. Very Strange!
Enjoy your Sunday!

My Sunday Photo this week I happened to take by chance. I looked out my bedroom window on Friday morning and this was my view.
I quickly rushed for my phone as you can just about see the second rainbow in the picture as well as the huge one in front. The rain cloud was heading towards me from the distance and a few minutes later it absolutely poured down with thunder as well. We are getting some really heavy downpours as well as hail at the moment in Cornwall.

A few weeks back I won a lovely sweetie competition which brought me back to lots of childhood memories where you could go into Woolworths and they only used to be 10p. Black Jacks were always my favourites of course!
I hope you all have a lovely Sunday.
