It’s a classic in its very simplicity, and it offers the very opposite of what trendsetters might try to invent for their own custom burgers. If this appeared in the 1950s, no one would bat an eye.
Dave’s Single
Who’s Dave? That’s a question more likely to come from someone new to Wendy’s. The Wendy’s fans already know that the name refers to Wendy’s famous founder. And if it bears the founder’s name, then it better be good.
Luckily enough, it’s so good that it’s a bestseller as well. Here you get a quarter-pound of beef with the cheese. Then to make things more interesting (and perhaps a bit “healthier” as well), you also get tomato, onion, and pickle to go with the ketchup and mayo.
It sure hits the spot, and it’s quite popular do the whole combination of flavors. It’s also a simple burger, especially when you just look at it. But once you get your first bite, “simple” isn’t the word you’d use to describe it, unless you mean that it’s simply good.
