Unicorns are a big thing in our house. Both L and I love anything with unicorns on and unicorn toys. We were both excited to have a first look at the new Schleich Bayala Glittering Moon Unicorns. We are a huge fan of the Schleich range due to the quality and beauty of the products.
You may remember our review of the Schleich Pony Agility Training Play Set earlier in the year which we are still playing with and enjoying very much. The Schleich range are truly timeless toys and will be enjoyed for many years. They have recently entered the market of mythical creatures like dragons and unicorns to go alongside the traditional horse and pony range.
The new purple glittering moon unicorns are a part of the Bayala universe. Bayala is a collection of enchanted unicorns and other wondrous beings like elves, mermaids and fairies. The proud unicorn stallion and the dazzling star Pegasus mare guard their adorable shooting star foal with Argus eyes. He keeps his parents on his toes with his grat curiosity as he’s exploring the world of Bayala.
What We Thought
All three of the Schleich figures are decorated with pretty rhinestones and glitter elements with their magnificent purple colours. All three of the figures are a different purple shade. Designed to help expand children’s imagination and role play, the glittering moon unicorns are very pretty, but also sturdy like other Schleich figures. L absolutely loves the Bayala moon unicorns. “Wow mummy they are so pretty” were her exact words when we opened the box. And I totally agreed with her. I’ve never seen figures with so many stunning features. They are delicately hand-painted to achieve the highest detail.
The Moon Unicorn Stallion has the most gorgeous black glittery mane, with rhinestones and the shape of the moon on his back. It’s not glitter that will come off either, it’s actually in the plastic the mane is made of.

The Star Pegasus Mare is even more beautiful with her glittery star wings, gold glittered legs, and rhinestones on her head. Her mane deserves a mention with its two plaited strands fixed with gold stars.

The Moon Unicorn foal has elements of both his mum and dad. He has his dad’s black glittery mane and tail, with his mum’s gold star and rhinestones on his back. He is totally cute and adorable.
