As you know I don’t get the chance to read quite as many books as I’d like to at the moment. Hopefully, this will change soon! But when I was offered to be a part of the blog tour for The Postcard by Zoe Folbigg, it was a book I really wanted to read. So I made time for a chapter here and there over the past few weeks. Now it is a sequel to the bestselling book The Note, which I haven’t read, however, I don’t think it affected the story at all for me.

What I Think
As I mentioned earlier The Postcard is a sequel, but it didn’t affect the story for me and was perfectly fine as a standalone book. First thoughts; the cover caught my eye. It’s designed like a postcard, bright and bold with an airplane and a taxi. So I knew it was a book with a lot of travel in it and I couldn’t wait to get started.
If I’m being honest it was pretty slow to start. It took me a while to get into the story. That said once I knew what was what and was going on, I thoroughly loved it. I think for me the story got going when Maya and James were in the full throws of travel. They had both taken a year out to travel the world. Maya has left her friend Nena at home with a baby, who is a tad jealous of Maya going on a travelling adventure. But then Maya realises what she wants is a baby and the stay at home life with James. But does James want that life?
The Postcard is full of details, I’ll put it that way! If you weren’t sure what colonic irrigation was you will know after reading this!
I did enjoy around 80% of the book, it might have been better if I read the first book, The Note before. So I’m going to give The Postcard 4 out of 5 stars.
