Well that time has come around again to give you my list of competition wins from last month. May has been one of my quietest months for a while, but then I haven’t entered as many as normal due to my blogging every day in May challenge #BEDM, taking up more time than usual. I am as always very grateful for the competition wins that I have won.
This month I have had 11 competition wins, 9 of them from Twitter competitions with 1 from a blog comp and the other from a Facebook one. I must admit nearly all my wins are from Twitter as they are so quick and easy to enter especially when I’m on my lunch break at work.
- A couple of boxes of Asparagus
I haven’t had a lot of time recently to enter competitions, I have been so busy catching up on reading and gardening and working loads. So the few competition wins I’ve had I’m very grateful for. I have won 3 beautifully made cushion covers, all with a red theme. These I won on Twitter with @designacushions
. I can’t wait to go out at the weekend and look for cushions for them. They will be perfect for my spare bedroom.
My other wins include a roll of plant tape. This will come in really handy for the garden. An iphone cover and some little jewellery bits from the lovely Shannon at raspberrykiss.co.uk
. A gorgeous book called Style Forever from a Facebook competition and a beautiful 70th anniversary edition of Thomas the Tank Engine.
My favourite win of the month so far was from @Almondycake
, it was this gorgeous Cadbury’s hamper. I am a huge chocoholic as you know by now, so these are the treats sorted out for the next few weeks!
I would love to know what is your favourite kind of chocolate?
I found a competition on Goodreads for this book, The Great Zoo of China by Matthew Reilly back in March and I was one of the lucky winners. I have been waiting patiently for it to arrive for ages and it turned up last week.
You know when you enter a competition that you really want to win, well this was one of them! I have been a huge Matthew Reilly fan for years. My older sister introduced me to his books ages ago. The first book of Reilly’s I read was Ice Station, its was a fantastic thriller with the introduction of Shane Schofield, and many other characters which turn up in his later books.
If you are into fast paced action thrillers these book are for you!
Reilly creates very strong characters which makes the books so much better to get absorbed into.
Here is a list of his books and which are on my to-read list:
Shane Scofield Novels:
- Ice Station (read)
- Area 7 (read)
- Scarecrow (read)
- Hell Island (read)
- Scarecrow and the Army of Thieves (to-read)
Jack West Jr Novels:
- Seven Ancient Wonders (read)
- The Six Sacred Stones (read)
- The Five Greatest Warriors (to-read)
Stand Alone Novels:
- Hovercar Racer (read)
- Contest (read)
- Temple (read)
- The Tournament (to-read)
- Troll Mountain (to-read)
- The Great Zoo of China (to-read)

I thought having 24 wins in March was amazing (Monthly Wins: March
) but last month was totally extraordinary! I have worked so hard over the last month entering well over 1000 competitions, writing lots of blog posts, catching up on reading and working full time as well. It has been very hard but very rewarding. So my total haul of wins last month was 31.
Here is the list of 31 competition wins from April, they have mostly come from Twitter wins with a couple of Goodreads and Facebook wins thrown in and the best wins of all, two surprise wins, where I have no idea where they came from.

I am very thankful for a my wins however small or big they might be. The iPad on my wishlist to win for my husband is still out there waiting to be won!
I hope you have all had a successful month, and keep plugging away with comping, our next big win is always around the corner!
While I was off work last week I had more time to comp and therefore won a few more bits than usual. I do believe in putting in lots of effort entering comps will eventually bring rewards. My little belief is that comping is 90% effort and 10% luck! I say it all to my friends who think I’m lucky, and tell them I put the hours in entering and enter 100’s a day so luck isn’t a huge deal to do with it. The odds will be in your favour if you enter loads and loads!
So last week I had these bits and bobs arrive! A gorgeous recipe book stand for the kitchen, a book called The Pointless Book 2, my cute little chocolate Easter egg, a football from Budweiser, So…..? body spray from their instagram comp (which is my first instagram win!), and a bottle of cherry Pepsi with my profile pic on!
The recipe book holder came from a competition with @CranksFood on Twitter. It is a gorgeous teal colour and with it being made of metal very sturdy.
The holder also came with three metal page markers with Starter, Main and Dessert written on them.
I won The Pointless Book 2 from a comp with WHSmith on Twitter. Its a great fun looking book full of dares, challenges, jokes and crazy activities!
It is written by Alfie Deyes and is the second book from his brand of nothingness! It looks great fun I can’t wait to have a read and attempt the hilarious activities! A perfect time wasting book!
Thanks for having a read of my wins, I hope you are enjoying my blog. You can also find me on bloglovin
I came across the idea of writing a small post about your own word of the week on Twitter. It’s from the lovely thereadingresidence
blog and comes with a linky to help you link up up with other bloggers. For a newbie like me, it’s a fantastic idea for others to find my little blog in the big wide blogging world!
So what one word sums up your week?
Mine is Lucky!
The reason I chose lucky is that I have had the most amazing luck in winning competitions this week. I have had this week off work and have been very lucky in that it has been the most gorgeous weather of the year so far down here in Cornwall. I also feel so lucky to live in Cornwall as well! Oh and my gorgeous nephew got his first choice in his primary school placement!
My competition winning streak started on Monday, with winning 3 books from various Twitter competitions, a butterfly journal, a can of Dr Pepper and a recipe book holder. I have never had so many wins in one day! I felt so lucky. I always appreciate my competition wins and work so hard entering loads everyday, and finally my hard work is showing off. I always believe that winning is from 90% effort and 10% luck.
On Tuesday I won yet another book from Twitter, so now I have got lots of reading to do and book reviews to write!. My luck continued yesterday with winning the Wallis Wednesday competition that is hosted on Twitter and Facebook. I have entered this competition every Wednesday for as long as I can remember so this has been my favourite win of the week.
So my one word Lucky sums up my fantastic week!
