Ever since I became a parent, I appreciate the odd spare moment I get to unwind around the home. Those moments are precious I can tell you! To relax and unwind I love to read. I can read anywhere. The bedroom , living room, bathroom and garden. Even the kitchen if I’m reading a magazine. Ultimately it’s the living room on the comfy sofa with a hot chocolate at this time of year.
In the Summer I find a shady spot in the garden or under the parasol to do my reading. Rattan Direct have some lovely garden furniture to unwind in the garden. Next Year when we move house I want to treat us to new garden furniture.
I’m relatively new to parenting as you know, so I have been reading lots of different articles on how to become the ideal parent. Baby girl is 7 months old and we have now started to use the word ‘no’ with her to start introducing those boundaries. When you say no to her she will stop what ever she’s doing and look up. I feel as if she is listening.
Growing up my mum and dad taught us all about good manners and to be polite. It doesn’t cost anything to be polite.
Here are some good manners to teach your kids.
Simple phrases for young kids to start learning.
A couple of months back KidloLand asked me to review their fun nursery rhyme app for young children. You can find my review here: KidloLand App Review Now they have put together a fun free printable colouring book. It’s a great money saving idea for keeping young children occupied and has many benefits which I’ve listed below.
On Friday we went to our last Baby Sensory class of the Summer term. Baby girl has loved going to her classes since the start of June. I feel they have benefited her greatly. This last class had the theme of Baby Frog. It was so much fun as you can see from My Sunday Photo below.
The light show that was put on was amazing. Our class leader Mel does such a wonderful job setting everything up. She really deserves a medal for all her hard work and dedication to all the babies.
Hello and welcome to week 3 of New Mum Stories. I am so glad I thought up this little series while I was having a shower one morning. I’m loving reading all these fantastic little stories that are sent to me.
This week I’m featuring Hayley from The Little Things In Life. Who gives us advice on following your instinct with your own baby. Deciding what’s best for you.
Over to you Hayley.
I’m Hayley and I blog over at www.hayleyslittlethings.com
and write all about things lifestyle, primarily parenting. I have two children; Daisy 2 years old and Alex 2 months!
As a first time mum (and dad!) you are thrown so much advice to supposedly help you through parenthood, more than likely throughout your whole child’s life but a whole bucket load when they are tiny. Advice like don’t let your baby go longer than 3 hours before feeding, don’t give them a dummy, you must do baby lead weaning, baby to sleep in your room until at least 6 month, no co sleeping, the list goes on.
We are weaning! So when the lovely people from Heavenly Organic Superfoods asked if I wanted to try out their range of baby foods, I said yes! It has come at just the right time. We have hit 6 Months. That magical age where babies want more than milk.
Baby girl has started off on purees. I’m sorry but baby-led weaning is not for us. I can’t think of anything worse than giving a 6 month old a stick of cooked carrot or a broccoli floret and say here you go. The fear of choking is too high for me.
Anyway heavenly organic have a great range of fruit pouches and wafer wisps on the market.
Heavenly organic superfoods are a range of guilt-free baby weaning meals and they have now moved into snacks as well. They were invented by Shauna Blair who was frustrated about the limited choice of baby food in Northern Ireland for children.
Heavenly Organic Wafer Wisps
Don’t you just love the name ‘wafer wisps’?
Baby girl loves these! She adores anything banana flavored at the moment so we tried the pumpkin and banana wafer wisps first. I love the subtle banana smell. They also taste really nice and not overly sweet. I love to have a quick taste of her food before she tries it!
