Here we are at baby dottie’s 1 month update. It’s hard to believe she’s been with us over a month now, yes I’m a little late with this update! It feels like she’s always been with us.
Baby dottie only lost 5% of her birth weight in those first few days. Unlike baby girl who lost over 10%. I put this down to myself being more experienced with breastfeeding this time around plus my milk came in quicker. We never got her red book until she was nearly 2 weeks old, bloody health visitors!
When the health visitor came around to do her checks she was such a busy body. Baby girl got on her nerves a bit as she wouldn’t stay quiet while she did baby dottie’s hearing test! What do you expect from a 2 year old? View Post
Here is my first baby diary entry on baby dottie. It’s my thoughts and feelings on baby stuff written by me at 2am during the night feeds.
I thoroughly enjoyed breastfeeding my first baby girl. It was a tricky start we had because my milk was delayed in coming in, due to the emergency c-section and the unpleasant birth experience I had.
Nevertheless once breastfeeding was established it became second nature to me. In fact I only stopped breastfeeding when baby girl turned 18 months old and I found out I was pregnant.
Baby dottie is now 4 weeks old. Don’t ask me where that time has gone, I’m not quite sure. Well I’m still in that newborn fuzzy phase of sleepless nights and unbrushed hair! Baby dottie has been sent some gorgeous new plush toys to look at. Everything unicorn is all the rage at the moment so it was great to receive these unicorn soft plush toys from GUND UK. Unicorns are beautiful mythical creatures making them ideal soft toys for little ones.
GUND is America’s oldest and most prestigious soft toy company, founded in 1898. You can tell from the products that they are of great quality, with the silky softness of the toys.
We received the Baby GUND Luna Lovey Unicorn. This lovey is made from boa with satin inside and the border making it really soft that tiny ones will love to cuddle and hold. I can’t tell you how soft it feels, you really need to touch it! It’s perfect for newborns, and gives you a piece of mind knowing it’s super safe. It’s perfect for a sleeptime buddy for your little one.
I have been meaning to write this post on tips for leaving the house with a newborn for a while.
Baby girl is 6 months old and leaving the house has got much slicker. We have our own routine now and she knows to wait and be patient while I pop to the loo!
Right at the very beginning, well 6 weeks after baby girl was born ( I had a c-section so wasn’t allowed to drive for 6 weeks) it used to take us 2 hours to get out of the house. I would throw my clothes onand have a quick spray of deodorant.
Yes sometimes there wasn’t time to have a shower!
Then there was the preparation of getting baby girl ready. I call it preparation because I used to prepare my self for any unexpected event that would put us behind.
On this week’s New Mum Stories we have the lovely Jordanne from The Life of a Glasgow Girl. Her first few weeks were hard as a new mum but now 2 and a half years later she cherish’s them more than ever.
Over to you Jordanne.
Hi, My names Jordanne and I blog over at Thelifeofaglasgowgirl.co.uk
Laying in bed watching my little guy sleep I thought to myself, How did I get so lucky? How on earth is my little man so perfect and I get to be his mum? Life is just, perfect.
Fast forward 10 minutes and I’m about to rip my hair out. I’m about to scream my head off into the pillow and run away to a beach a.s.a.p My perfect little guy is spewing…. Like, Projectile vomiting all over me, all over the bed and all over the floor. He is screaming which in turn upsetting me because I can’t move fast at all, My Gran isn’t home and my other half is at work. I feel helpless, I feel like I can’t help my child and it’s so unnerving. Sitting in a pool of sick, with my child in my arms and an excruciating pain shooting through my c-section wound I can’t help but think, This IS motherhood.
A while back I saw an advert on Instagram from Childs Farm who were looking for Brand Ambassador’s. As a new mummy to nearly 6 month old now, I love to find out and discover new brands that I’d not heard of. Childs Farm was one of these. I love natural products that contain no nasties or are not harsh on baby’s skin. Oh and smell nice too!
So before I applied, I looked up Childs Farm and read up on what they are about.
