Living Arrows 8/53 (2018)

Welcome back to our little weekly round-up of Living Arrows 8/53 (2018). I’m enjoying getting into the routine of sharing a little bit of our life and how my gorgeous 2 year old is growing away so fast!

You can catch up on last week’s post here : Living Arrows 7/53.

Living Arrows 8/53 (2018)

This week, we haven’t had the chance to get out much due to the typical Cornish weather and my work shifts. I’ve only got 2 more weeks of work left now before maternity leave so we will be out and about more soon!

The photo above of baby girl is one her dad took of her and sent to me while I was at work. She is such a cutie, trying to stifle a laugh I’m sure!

She has been watching some episodes of teletubbies this week. It’s her new favourite show. She dances to the TV when they are on, going Tubbie bye byes, Tubbie bye byes! Then when it finishes bursts into tears! She is growing up so fast now and beginning to realise things more.

My darling sensitive girl. x

This past week has been very special. Someone turned 2 years old! I know everyone says this but where has the time gone? Here I am 30 weeks pregnant wondering where the last two years have disappeared. I’m sure when you have kids the time gets sucked away from you!

Baby girl’s favourite food is pizza. If you ask her “what would you like for tea?” her reply is nearly always “pizza” So we thought as a birthday lunch treat we would take her to our local Pizza Hut.  When we got there did she want pizza? No! She wanted pasta! I couldn’t help but laugh! Anyway thank god they do pasta. She enjoyed a whole bowl of pasta and more.

Here she is before we went out to Pizza Hut all dressed and ready to go. My older sister sent over the gorgeous Minnie Mouse Cath Kidston backpack to her that she loves to wear all the time now. She loves to stuff it with her PJ Masks figurines.

Each week seems to be getting here closer all the time! Here I am at 29 weeks pregnant and wondering how an earth am I going to cope with a newborn an active 2 year old in 10 weeks time! This past week we have had many more new words being added to the vocabulary list.  “Cake” being on of them and her surname “Bustin” Baby girl cannot quite say her first name yet but will pick up her pretend phone and have a conversation with her dad on it and say I’m …… Bustin, are you ok? yes, bye! It’s fascinating to watch her!

On Monday it was extremely cold outside, but that didn’t stop her coming up to me with her coat, hat on, wellies and her waterproof dungarees dragging me to the back door saying “out mumma”

So we spent half an hour outside in near freezing temperatures playing with her retro Little Tikes car. I say Retro as it was her cousins when they were small, so about 20 years old!

Living Arrows 5/53 (2018)

Here we are on week 5 of Living Arrows. You can catch up on last week’s post here : Living Arrows 4/53.

The idea behind Living Arrows is to celebrate childhood. It’s name is taken from a poem by Kahlil Gibran,

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

The week started off pretty well, baby girl has been picking up lots of phrases and words. She recognises her favourite cartoon characters and goes around calling out Skye, Marshall, Gekko, Owlette! It’s so cute!

From Friday onwards and all weekend she has had a terrible cold and sore throat. She seems to have inherited the way a cold comes out in her from me. Whenever I get a cold I suffer with runny eyes and sore throat. Bless her she’s much better now, but Friday night she wouldn’t stay upstairs and wanted to come down to the living room. My husband and I stayed up with her most of the night comforting her as she was being sick and full of snot. I had about 3 hours sleep before I had to get ready for work at 5am.

Being 28 weeks pregnant and having to work a full day on just 3 hours sleep was challenging. I kept telling myself you are getting prepared for the sleepless nights when the new baby arrives! I kept myself going on chocolate, chips and cheese toasties at work!

Here is a photo of baby girl earlier in the week before the horrible cold arrived, her new favourite thing is to tip her toy basket up and sit on it, that’s when she isn’t trying to get in it!

Living Arrows 4/53 (2018)

I’m so proud of myself for regularly keeping up with this year’s Living Arrows. Here we are on week 4 already! You can catch up on last week’s post here – Living Arrows 3/53.

The idea behind Living Arrows is to celebrate childhood. It’s name is taken from a poem by Kahlil Gibran,

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Last week both my husband and myself had a week off work. It’s the first time we have had decent time off together since last October (Christmas we only had two days together). So we started off the week sorting out the garage and unpacking boxes we hadn’t got around to when we moved last June. Finding all the baby stuff out that we had packed away. From Wednesday onwards it was a few days of fun! Well between the heavy Cornish rain showers!

We did manage to get to our park which is right down the road from where we live. It was fun as we were the only ones there! Baby girl loved playing on the swings and she had her first go on the little motorbike. She wasn’t too sure about that.

Living Arrows 3/53 (2018)

Living Arrows 3/53 (2018) – It only seemed like yesterday I was writing last week’s Living Arrows post. The day’s seem to be flying by. Being 26 weeks pregnant and running around after a toddler makes time go by in the blink of an eye.

This week we needed to buy wellies for baby girl. She has grown out of her pink cat wellies so we popped into Tescos and found some pink unicorn ones. While we we there I couldn’t help but browse the baby clothes. They look so tiny to me now! I have kept all of baby girl’s clothes from 6 months up but I sold all her newborn ones.

I find she is growing so fast at the moment, at 23 months old some of her clothes are already 3-4 year olds. I guess she takes after her 6 ft 5 dad. Next up we need to go and look at some girls coats for her as I don’t think her little parka coat will last her much longer!
