In 8 weeks time our new baby girl will be here. This pregnancy has gone so much faster than the first. Maybe it’s because I’m running around after a 2 year old. These past few weeks I’ve been putting together this baby gift guide and useful items for mums.
There are ideas of things to buy a newborn for a gift and also items for mum as well. I’ve been getting lots of inspiration by chatting to wonderful work colleague who is expecting her first in a few weeks, and also my younger sister who is also expecting her second child and due only 2 weeks before me. There are babies everywhere! Must be something in the water!
Baby Gift Guide
These are things that would make lovely gifts for a baby.
General Relativity for babies
Being a bit of a science geek, I couldn’t resist this adorable babies’ book. It’s a hard board book with wipe clean surfaces. Bold illustrations with simple words. Great for getting a head start on Science! Other books in the series include Rocket Science and Quantum Physics. The book also comes in a cute woodland animals cloth bag.

If you are wondering what to buy a family member or friend for their birthday or other special celebration a photo-related gift could be the perfect answer. As you will see, there is a lot you can do with the photos you take or images you buy and download from the web.
Order a nice canvas print
It is really easy to order a great piece of unique artwork from Hello Canvas. All you need to do is to go through your photos find a nice one, choose a frame and size and send the photo to the print firm. Within about a week, they will produce your canvas print and send it to either you or the person you are giving the gift to.
These make particularly good gifts for grandparents, especially if you have a nice photo of them and the grandchildren that can be blown up. However, for this type of print, the photo does need to be good-quality.
Did you know that Valentine’s Day is only 3 weeks away? I love the idea behind Valentines, the romance, the love and those special moments with your loved one. It’s an exchange of cards, chocolates, flowers and gifts. In fact the first Valentine’s Day was in the year of 496. It’s a very old tradition and thought to have originated from a Roman festival. All in the name of Saint Valentine.
After Christmas Valentine’s Day is the second most popular card-giving holiday. But as well as giving a card you can give a gift. A unique, unusual and personalised romantic gift, which is perfect for your partner including girlfriend, boyfriend, wife or husband will go down a treat I’m sure.
I’m a huge fan of Personalised Valentine’s gifts. It makes that gift so much more personal to your loved one. I’ve been lucky enough to review this gorgeous Tree of Life necklace from GiftsOnline4U.
We have started to fill our walls in the new house with family pictures and memories. So when Twenty Fingers contacted us asking if we would love to review one of their gorgeous framed personalised papercut, it came at the right time. A bespoke personalised papercut to us would fit lovely amongst our photos.
The process of designing your own papercut on the website is fairly simple and easy to navigate. The hardest part I found was trying to decide on what words I wanted! I know I wanted a saying that would fit in with what I wanted to achieve on the wall. I finally decided on this phrase, it’s made of two of my favourite sayings.
Home is where love resides, memories are made, families are forever, love today, tomorrow & always.
Do you love to shop online?
Now that Christmas is only a few weeks away it’s time to start thing about your Christmas shopping. That’s if you like to be organised. I know people that are completely last minute shoppers and wonder why there is nothing left that they want! I do have a Women’s and Babie’s & Kid’s gift guides for the slightly different gifts if you are a bit stuck on ideas.
I’m a super organised person, or at least I like to think so, so I’ve been thinking about Christmas presents for a while now. With it being baby girl’s first Christmas I’m super excited!
