The days are getting colder now. The other morning I had to de-ice my car at 5am before I could head to work! I wish I had a warmer coat on as well. So much for being organised!
I have been browsing online at the Winter clothes trends for women, hoping to get some inspiration for a new coat or jacket. The Winter fashion trends this season are chunky knitwear, the colour red, big hats and fancy footwear including knee high boots. All with a 70’s vibe. Checks and tweed patterns are also big this season.
Being a redhead the colour red doesn’t suit me. I’m more into greens/browns and turquoise shades of blue. If you saw my Autumn wardrobe checklist, it was mainly neutral colours and knitwear.
You know me I love to write about many different topics, so when a special older lady in my life asked for my advice on fashion tips for ladies of her age, I thought yes I can give it a go. Maybe even write a post about it to help others. As I’m sure there are others out there looking for fashion tips to help with their body positivity. Tips that are different from the generic older lady tag and are for all different shapes and sizes.
Now that the weather is starting to warm up, and the clocks go forward on Sunday morning, Spring is well and truly on its way. It’s time to have a refresh of your wardrobe and find out the trends and must haves for this Spring. Put away your thick Winter coats and head out to see whats on offer this season.
I’ve always been basic and comfy when it comes around to buying clothes, but always try to put a little effort in.
As you all know I’m a huge fan of saving money online. Each time I want to buy something, whether it’s a birthday gift, something for baby girl, something for the house and garden or even clothes for myself, I check out my favourite voucher code sites. We made huge savings on a car seat for baby girl last year at Halfords using My Favourite Voucher Codes.
Now I’m on the look out for something special to wear for a couple of weddings coming up in the Spring. I’ve noticed Karen Millen has a wonderful selection of clothes for wedding guests, but of course they are slightly on the expensive side. Well you do pay for quality and the name I suppose. So because I have chosen Karen Millen as my retailer of choice, I want something that is timeless, where it can be worn in various other situations not just for weddings. I want to get my money’s worth out of it.
For the fashion concious lady we have these fabulous collars from The Shirt Company. I think they are fun and great for dressing up a going out or the smart business outfit. This is the Viola.
This collar is not quite as formal as the Viola. It’s known as the Peony. Very pretty in black. The Shirt Company really has lots of pretty shirts and tops available on their online shop.
Why not take a look and treat someone this Christmas?
I love all types of curds. On toast, great for using in cakes oh and my favourite – on scones with Cornish clotted cream. Yum! This passionfruit and lemon curd is amazing from Scarlett & Mustard. Fresh and zingy. A great little gift. Why not add their blackcurrent & Star Anise, Lime & Mint and Toffee Apple curds to a little gift basket?
A couple of weeks back I reviewed The Book of Everyone. These books really do make great personalised gifts. This one is for my husband for Christmas, but I’ve gone and ordered one for my sister as well.
I love the way they take you on a journey back in time. You can learn about the day you were born, What was the number one single, amongst other facts.
A great gift for that person you never know what to buy for them.
Why is it hard to find a perfect midi dress? You know a dress that’s not for the beach like a maxi one but a nice proper dress for going out to lunch. Or to a lovely Summer wedding.
I hunted around online looking at selections of midi dresses from Simply Be. I thought this is my chance to find it – a perfect midi dress for those special occasions in a plus size. It’s been 6 months since I had baby girl and my mum tum is still present along with a few other wobbly bits!
So as I said I spent a few hours on the Simply Be website looking through the vast selection of midi dresses in plus size to see if anything popped out at me. My luck was in. A gorgeous blue midi dress with a flowery design came on the screen.
What made it pop and a little different is the two yellow stripes on the dress at the bottom. As you can see me modeling it below.
