We love to go out for walks and have a day out around our favourite place Malpas, Truro down here in Cornwall. So when we were invited to take part with the Aldi #MamiaDaysOut challenge we knew exactly where we were going to go for a little picnic.
On Friday the sun was shining and the blue sky was out so we decided to go for a little picnic before our Baby Sensory class. Although it was fairly cold, well I suppose it is Autumn, it was a gorgeous day.
Hello, and welcome to this week’s New Mum Stories from the fabulous Cécile over at The Frenchie Mummy. Cécile shares her feelings with us over her Baba’s operation to repair his faulty heart.
Over to you Cécile
I am not in the right set of mind today. I think it’s pretty obvious with the title of this post really…Frenchie Mummy doesn’t feel like being funny aujourd’hui. She has a lot on her mind and all those horrible ideas are not going anywhere. It’s a shame, vraiment. The day is gorgeous. I could have been out with Baba. But I don’t feel like it.
Tomorrow it the BIG DAY. Le grand jour when it will all happen. As I explained before, Baba has a congenital heart defect called a VSD. He needs surgery to repair his faulty organ. We have been to the hospital yesterday for the pre-op arrangements. It’s been an exhausting and tiring day.
I am already in such a state… And it was only the pre-arrangements before the big day! We haven’t been through anything yet. I am dreading tomorrow. I don’t know how I will cope and if I will be strong enough.
We went to St Thomas’ Hospital at 10am and didn’t leave before 5pm. It was full of emotions. I know my baby is in good hands and the best cardiologists are taking care of him. But it was so depressing to be there and to go through everything: scan, IRM, ECG, blood test…
We have decided to take up the #BepanthenBedtimeChallenge with Bepanthen. The idea of this challenge is for us to share our bedtime routine and night-time nappy changes experiences with you using Bepanthen nappy care ointment to help protect against the causes of nappy rash.
Up until 4 and half months baby girl used to sleep through the night from about 4 weeks. Now at nearly 7 and half months she wakes up at least twice a night on a good night. She is teething quite bad at the moment and I’m sure this wakes her up during the night.
Therefore I like to use a nappy ointment like Bepanthen to protect her little botty especially now she is teething. I don’t know if it’s connected but she is more prone to nappy rash while she is teething.
Hello and welcome back to another instalment of New Mum Stories. This week I’m featuring Ashleigh from 3 Girls Mummy. Who tells us about her very quick birth of her younger Irish twin.
Over to you Ashleigh
I had my youngest of 3 girls just over 7 weeks ago so I have many stories I could tell throughout the years but I’ll not forget the day after I had my youngest.
Smallest (R) was born 13th July 2016. I went into hospital at 8.30am and she was here by 9.50am! Middle (L) was born 14th July 2015. This makes them Irish Twins. There’s one day less than a year between them.
Dear Baby Girl
It’s 2am and I can barely keep my eyes open. Tonight you have slept 5 hours before waking yourself up by rolling on your side then over onto your belly. You drink your breastmilk like its the last milk left in the whole world. Your eyes drifting off to sleep as you enter your dream feed time.
The bedroom is nearly steeped in darkness but I can still make out your beautiful angelic face. You lie your sweaty little head in my arms. It’s your safe place. The place where you are the most relaxed. You snuggle into my breast with your little chubby cheeks and place your hand in mine.
For My Sunday Photo I have chosen a photo of baby girl who turned 7 months this week. I cannot comprehend where those 7 months have gone. She is growing day by day and changing all the time. It seems every time I have turned my back she has done something different. Only this week she has learnt to sit herself back up from lying on her tummy.
Oh and is virtually on the edge of crawling. She gets herself up feet ready to go on all fours, but her arms let her down! She can’t seem to be able to crawl forwards. Backwards is fine though!
