What can parents do to unwind around the home?

Ever since I became a parent, I appreciate the odd spare moment I get to unwind around the home. Those moments are precious I can tell you! To relax and unwind I love to read. I can read anywhere. The bedroom , living room, bathroom and garden. Even the kitchen if I’m reading a magazine. Ultimately it’s the living room on the comfy sofa with a hot chocolate at this time of year.

In the Summer I find a shady spot in the garden or under the parasol to do my reading. Rattan Direct have some lovely garden furniture to unwind in the garden. Next Year when we move house I want to treat us to new garden furniture.

Reading in the garden - unwind, relaxing

Over at Rattan Direct they have a round dining chair set with stackable chairs and you can get a parasol as well which would look fantastic for entertaining. Perfect for that new house BBQ party with friends – another way to unwind!

Rattan Direct have produced a survey on three areas, to find out what do parents do to unwind around the home, how you are going to celebrate this Christmas this year and has Brexit affected your spending habits around the home.

I’m looking forward to reading the results from this.

With Christmas just around the corner, I find shopping for gifts for the family a way to relax and unwind. I know there are lots of people who stress out at the thought of gift buying, but not me. I plan weeks in advance, so I know what to get.

Then when Christmas is here it’s great to relax together as a family sitting around the table eating, telling silly jokes and pulling crackers. My older sister comes over from Canada so it’s amazing to catch up with her and find out what she’s been up to since the last time we caught up.

Looking forward to the New Year, means big things for us. Next Summer we hope to be in our new house, once we have sold ours. At the moment Brexit hasn’t affected us and our spending habits but only time will tell.

What do you do to unwind and how will you be celebrating Christmas? Please do fill in the quick 2 minute survey and let me know in the comments.

I really wish I din’t find Christmas shopping so stressful but maybe I need to be a bit more like you and be well prepared and live myself enough time to get it all done x

I actually like to unwind at the gym – not that I get to go much these days! It’s hard to find time between working and caring for a wee one. Reading is a great way to unwind too – I try to read at least a chapter of a book every night before bed.

I bought garden chairs the day Prince William married. I must have forgotten at the time of purchase that I have a child who doesn’t let me sit in the daytime because I have only sat on one once!

Ummm my go to for unwinding has to be a bath… hot and bubbly or a mindless Facebook game for a bit where I don’t have to think. I love to read but atm it would take me a year to finish 1 book!

Christmas will be spent with family at home all bundled into one house and eating crap x
