This Is My Word of the Week – Weather
Weather, a noun – the state of the atmosphere with respect to wind, temperature, cloudiness, moisture and pressure
I would just like to say thanks again to thereadingresidence
for hosting this great Word of the Week linky. Over the past few months I have joined up numerous times and love summing up my week with just one word.
So this week I have chosen weather as my #WotW because it has been so topsy turvy this week down here in the South West. On Sunday we drove up to Teignmouth which is across the border into Devon to catch up with family. It was a gorgeous day as you can tell from the photo below. Lots of people were out and about enjoying the sun although it was a bit overcast at times. I even happened to catch the sun on my face, which will teach me a lesson about not putting on suncream, even if the weather isn’t the brightest.
Today (Friday) is a complete opposite. It has been torrential rain here today. A bit rubbish for June weather I must add! I got completely soaked walking across the car park at work getting to my car. Then as it was so hot and humid I was steaming up the car inside with my wet clothes as I was driving home.
Don’t you think that there is always more traffic and a lot more traffic queues when the weather is rubbish? I thought it was taking me forever to get home today.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and that the weather is better for you than it is down here in Cornwall. The forecast for the next few days isn’t the best down here, but at least it’s been the hottest day of the year so far today from what I gather was just on the news!
