Hello, I hope you had a great week.
Today I’m on the blog tour for Under the Love Umbrella by Davina Bell and illustrated by Allison Colpoys. My first thought is what a wonderful eye-catching cover for a children’s book.
Whatever you fear, come close my dear
You’re tucked in safe for always here
And I will never not be near
Because of our love umbrella
From this award-winning creative duo comes a book about the wonder of ever-present love. A stunning celebration of the joy and comfort that is always with us, wherever we roam in the big, wild world.
Who’s under your Love Umbrella?
You might think that going green is just about helping the planet. But actually, it could help you too and greatly improve your life.
One of the obvious ways going green could help is through saving money.
By using less energy, you’ll also be spending less money on your bills which is fantastic. It certainly makes life easier when you’re trying to raise a family. To save money on your bills, you can start by switching on the heating a little less through the year. Instead, wrap up warm through winter and maybe buy some thicker curtains. If you do this, we’re sure there will be no need for those expensive fuel bills.
Here are few other ways going green could improve your life.
Anxiety is a horrendous condition. Rational or not, it’s all too real to the person experiencing it. Symptoms include sweating palms, increased heart rate, and panic attacks. And the worst part? Many people misinterpret the severity of anxiety. The strangest thing is, we all experience it in some form or another. It may not always go to the levels described above, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t anxiety. Do you avoid a room if you know there’s a spider in it? Do you fail to make health checkups when you need to? Both of these are examples of allowing anxiety to alter your behavior. So, even if you don’t think anxiety is something you suffer from, it may have more of an impact on your life than you think.

I have always been a fan of Lee Stafford products, so when I was asked to review the Lighten Up Mirror, I was very excited! Not only is it in one of my favourite colours, but it’s a very useful product that will stand out on my bathroom shelf. I will keep it in here for use in the very early mornings (I’m talking before 5am!). It’s very lightweight so great to transport to your dressing table if needed.
The Lighten Up Mirror arrived very well packaged in polystyrene inside the cardboard box. This is needed due to the breakable nature of the mirror. We don’t want 7 years bad luck do we?
What is the purpose of the Lighten Up Mirror?
So the purpose of the mirror is to complete your dressing area in style with the pink chrome mirror – I love this!
It has a soft warm illumination perfect for your beauty regime – Totally needed to cover up my bags under my eyes from the lack of sleep!
Double sided with a 360 degrees rotating angle to make sure you look glamorous from every angle – aww thanks, just what I need!
1x and 3x magnification for those close up moments when a steady hand is needed.
If you’re single: fear not. Even though you might not have a man in your life, there’s still plenty of room for delicious food. Invite your bestie over and pig out on something delicious. There’s so much to choose from.
Chocolate brownies are one of the most decadent and delicious foods on the planet. And thanks to a bunch of enterprising vegans, they can now be among the healthiest. It turns out that you don’t have to make brownies with the usual combination of sugar, white flour and egg. Instead, you can use black beans (yes, you read that right), wholemeal oats and maple syrup and create the same effect. Beans, it turns out, are the new flour, and they’re a lot healthier too. In fact, beans have been shown to reduce blood sugar spikes following a meal, helping to protect your pancreas. It’s all good news for those of us who like a bit of custard with our dessert.
Did you know that new homes built today have to confine to UK building regulations? Of course we all know that they have lots of rules and regulations that they have to abide to. But recently there are sustainable code practices added conforming to energy and CO2 emissions, and these include lighting.
The building developers have to make houses as sustainable and efficient more than ever before. So one of these regulations to help this is to make sure at least 75% of lighting fittings must be low energy.
We found this our when we moved into our new build a few years back. We had mostly newer style fittings and couple of older ones. Our stylish lampshades only fitted the new ones so we had to trundle out looking for lampshades with the older style fittings.
I don’t know why they can’t just fit all of the same fittings!
Anyway I have been reading up on how you can live a greener lifestyle by using eco-friendly lighting. I want to know what we can do to our new house when we move in the Summer. Lighting is going to be key for us in the new house as it’s positioned behind an old chapel which is surrounded by trees. It is a gorgeous spot, but like I said we will need some decent lighting.
