Our Joyful Family Moments With The Oreo Cookie Quest

Experiencing family moments are precious to us, as I’m sure they are to you. Although I have just started maternity leave, before, between us we were both working full time over the 7 day week so family time was scarce. This past week Mr B had a week off work so we decided it was going to be a week full of joyful family moments. Leading us to take on the #OreoCookieQuest.

This quest is all about creating, capturing and sharing joyful family moments with Oreo in celebration of The Great Oreo Cookie Quest – a fun and exciting way to win great family prizes which is advertised on selected packets of Oreos. You can win a once-in-a-lifetime wonder-filled trip to California and the Googleplex through through the on-pack promotion. You can find more info here: Great Oreo Search.

Smart casual — what are the rules?

The phrase ‘smart casual’ can crop up anywhere — for a wedding, cocktail party or even a business event. But the line can sometimes become blurred between too formal and too casual, so what should you and your partner be wearing? CT Shirts, retailers of men’s slim fit suits, give us some advice.

Going for business casual

Sometimes, you might not be given any hints as to what the dress code is. Some offices and workplaces have ‘dress down Fridays’ or a casual dress code every day. However, it’s still nice to make an effort and look reasonably smart — even if this doesn’t involve a ball gown or three-piece suit and tie.

There are some occasions where you’re asked to dress specifically ‘smart casual’. At a dinner party for example, a men’s shirt and tuxedo or ball gown is not expected but slack jeans and a T-shirt would be looked down upon. Or, for a first interview — it may specify casual in the email, but first impressions count and your outfit should still be carefully considered.

Often, a ‘smart casual’ dress is a secure option. It avoids the error of looking like you don’t take pride in your appearance and prevents you feeling out-of-place by dressing too formally.

Easy Fruit Cake Recipe with Crazy Jacks

I love to try out new snacks and foods. So when we were sent a selection of Crazy Jacks organic foods to try out I knew exactly what I was going to do with them.

It’s Mr B’s birthday this week and his favourite type of cake is fruit cake, so that’s what I’m going to bake for his birthday.

Crazy Jacks is a dedicated organic and natural producer of many different products including grains, fruits, nuts & seeds, herbs & spices as well as pulses. It’s one of the brands under Community Foods who have been around for over 40 years. Community Foods also have the Jumble Bee brand. These are mainly healthy snack foods such as trail mixes, banana chips and dried tropical fruits.

I’m loving the terrific trail mix form Jumble bee. It’s handy to keep in my handbag for munching on when I have my pregnancy cravings!

They are all available to buy from most supermarkets and all good independent health food stores.

Happy 3rd Blogiversary – Giveaway Day 4

Hello, welcome back to the last day of my 3rd blogiversary giveaways. You can catch up with days 1, 2 and 3 here on the competitions page.

Why I’m still in love with blogging 3 years down the line:

In the blog world each day is different. You honestly never know what is going to turn up in your email box. It could be someone wanting the earth for pennies or nothing! But then it could be a fantastic opportunity, well paid and an absolute dream project to work on. These are few and far between these days and as the blogging world welcomes many new bloggers everyday they are becoming very rare. At this point you need to be the one that stands out from everyone else.
