Like Minds: Off-Base Military Apartment Communities Are a Great Choice

On or off base? That’s a question many servicemen and women have to deal with as their job may demand frequent relocations. Your last base may have been clean, modern, and quiet, but there are no assurances where you’re heading next. If you’re thinking about living off base, here are some perks of doing so.

The Freedom You Deserve

If your spouse wants to start a home business, your new or current base may not be so supportive. The same goes if the base is too far from your spouse’s new job. For many military families, living off base is the best way to facilitate becoming a two-income household.

Our Weekend Project – Chicken Coop Building

Over the past few weekends, my husband has been putting together our chicken coop and making a run for my dad’s three hens. As you may have read, I lost my dad 3 months ago and he had a small holding. All of my dad’s life he kept animals. The cattle went at the start of last week and now the last animals to go were the chickens that my mum asked me to have.

Our Weekend Project - Chicken Coop Building

I used to keep my own chickens as a child so she knew I would be very touched to have dads hens. Keeping hens in the garden is pretty easy. I’d rather have them than a cat or dog. They make excellent pets plus give you fresh eggs everyday. Since Sunday when I picked them up we have had two eggs each day.

Binge Watching With Now TV

On maternity leave with baby girl back in 2016 I was big into binge watching TV box sets during the day. I used to sit on the sofa when my husband went back to work watching Game of Thrones, 24, Lost and Friends. Cuddling up breastfeeding a newborn is the best.

This time around with a toddler a well, I can’t do that during the day. All I’m watching is Paw Patrol and Fireman Sam! But in the evenings, well some of them, while baby dottie is cluster feeding on the boob the box sets are back.

Thanks to NOW TV who sent us their swanky new smart stick we are binge watching Grey’s Anatomy. Right from the start. I have seen some of the episodes before but watching a load in one go is awesome.
