Living Arrows 7/53 (2018)

You can catch up on last week’s post here : Living Arrows 6/53.

The idea behind Living Arrows is to celebrate childhood. It’s name is taken from a poem by Kahlil Gibran,

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

This past week has been very special. Someone turned 2 years old! I know everyone says this but where has the time gone? Here I am 30 weeks pregnant wondering where the last two years have disappeared. I’m sure when you have kids the time gets sucked away from you!

Baby girl’s favourite food is pizza. If you ask her “what would you like for tea?” her reply is nearly always “pizza” So we thought as a birthday lunch treat we would take her to our local Pizza Hut.  When we got there did she want pizza? No! She wanted pasta! I couldn’t help but laugh! Anyway thank god they do pasta. She enjoyed a whole bowl of pasta and more.

Here she is before we went out to Pizza Hut all dressed and ready to go. My older sister sent over the gorgeous Minnie Mouse Cath Kidston backpack to her that she loves to wear all the time now. She loves to stuff it with her PJ Masks figurines.

Book Review: 2051 by L. Stanley

This past week I have been reading a new dystopian novel by L. Stanley, 2051: The Emancipated Synthetic. I haven’t read a dystopian book for while. The last ones being the The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, but those books are more young adult designed. I did watch The Handmaid’s Tale last year on TV and really enjoyed it, that’s set in a scary world much like 2051.

Firstly here is a little bit more about 2051.

Photo Related Gift Ideas

Order a nice canvas print

It is really easy to order a great piece of unique artwork from Hello Canvas. All you need to do is to go through your photos find a nice one, choose a frame and size and send the photo to the print firm. Within about a week, they will produce your canvas print and send it to either you or the person you are giving the gift to.

These make particularly good gifts for grandparents, especially if you have a nice photo of them and the grandchildren that can be blown up. However, for this type of print, the photo does need to be good-quality.

Book Review and Giveaway: Behind Her Back by Jane Lythell

Today I’m on the blog tour for Behind her back by Jane Lythell. It’s the second book of the StoryWorld series, but I still found it easy enough to read without reading the first.

Sexual Health and Romance on Valentine’s Day

It’s that time of year again – Valentine’s Day where romancing your loved one is the supposed thing to do. If you are looking for a last minute Valentine’s Day gift I have the Ultimate Gift Guide right here. You do however need to keep in mind your sexual health and know how to protect yourself. March is the month where the most at home pregnancy tests are bought.

More than 35 million heart shaped boxes of chocolates are bought at Valentine’s. Our favourite chocolate brand Cadbury made the first box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day in the late 1800’s and this tradition still carries on strong today.

In fact did you know that men account for 73% of flower sales for Valentine’s Day. I bet most of those men only buy flowers at this time of year! Of course it’s the red rose that is the most popular flower.

The Independent Pharmacy has a brief guide available to help you with your sexual health on Valentine’s Day. Whether it be advice on performance, birth control or STI’s. It also shares lots of Valentine’s facts and figures that are very interesting!
