On this week’s New Mum Stories we have the lovely Jordanne from The Life of a Glasgow Girl. Her first few weeks were hard as a new mum but now 2 and a half years later she cherish’s them more than ever.
Over to you Jordanne.
Hi, My names Jordanne and I blog over at Thelifeofaglasgowgirl.co.uk
Laying in bed watching my little guy sleep I thought to myself, How did I get so lucky? How on earth is my little man so perfect and I get to be his mum? Life is just, perfect.
Fast forward 10 minutes and I’m about to rip my hair out. I’m about to scream my head off into the pillow and run away to a beach a.s.a.p My perfect little guy is spewing…. Like, Projectile vomiting all over me, all over the bed and all over the floor. He is screaming which in turn upsetting me because I can’t move fast at all, My Gran isn’t home and my other half is at work. I feel helpless, I feel like I can’t help my child and it’s so unnerving. Sitting in a pool of sick, with my child in my arms and an excruciating pain shooting through my c-section wound I can’t help but think, This IS motherhood.
As you all know I love books, all types of books. Anything with words in and pictures are a bonus! So when a review for The Ultimate Bathroom book by Peter Hirsch popped up in my inbox it was too hard to say no.
Peter Hirsch is the director of the bathroom company Soakology, and he wrote this book about his travels around the world seeking out bathrooms. Finding out what a bathroom means in different cultures and how they differ country to country.
What does the bathroom mean to people in the context of their country?
This book, My First Discoveries – Water is my first review for Boolino. Last month I was contacted by a company called Boolino who specialise in being book advisors for children and young readers. They asked me to join them as a Boolino Friend.
I adore books, as you know and I want my baby girl to share the same love for books as I do. So I gladly accepted their offer to review books on my blog and we get to keep them afterwards. Yay! At 6 months old baby girl already loves her books.
So this first discovery book is on the subject of water. It’s designed for 4-8 year olds. But that hasn’t stopped baby girl from having a look!
We were very excited to be asked by Tommee Tippee to join in with the Tommee Tippee Ultra Games. All we had to do was take a photo of our little ones with the headband and medal on that was sent to us to take part in their games.
Now I’m a huge fan of the olympics and have been since I watched the first one I can remember. Which was Barcelona in 1992. This Summer because I’m on maternity leave I can watch quite a bit. I have really enjoyed the road cycling. gymnastics and swimming so far. I cannot wait until the athletics start. That’s my favourite.
Tommee Tippee are running their own games over on Facebook. There are lots of events you can enter your little one in. If you win they receive a Tommee Tippee Athlete pack and bottle. The pack contains a sweatband, medal and certificate.
How to Enter
Over the course of the games Tommee Tippee will be hosting the events below and to enter all you have to do is upload a photo or video show casing the event to their Facebook page.

Why is it hard to find a perfect midi dress? You know a dress that’s not for the beach like a maxi one but a nice proper dress for going out to lunch. Or to a lovely Summer wedding.
I hunted around online looking at selections of midi dresses from Simply Be. I thought this is my chance to find it – a perfect midi dress for those special occasions in a plus size. It’s been 6 months since I had baby girl and my mum tum is still present along with a few other wobbly bits!
So as I said I spent a few hours on the Simply Be website looking through the vast selection of midi dresses in plus size to see if anything popped out at me. My luck was in. A gorgeous blue midi dress with a flowery design came on the screen.
What made it pop and a little different is the two yellow stripes on the dress at the bottom. As you can see me modeling it below.
Yesterday we had a walk around our local Farmer’s market in Truro, and this week they had a marquee as extra with lots of Cornish companies inside. For My Sunday Photo this week I decided to show you the cute and quirky coasters we bought from the Cornish Bird in the Sticks
How funky are these?
There were so many designs to choose from and many were designed with local landmarks in mind and easily distinguishable to me.
