Mother’s Day Gift Guide On A Budget

I will be starting Maternity leave in a couple of weeks and we all know that maternity pay isn’t that great. I will be thinking of ways to budget the money we have coming in and making it go that little further. That said there is always some kind of special day, birthday or holiday coming up, so making those pennies stretch further is a must.

B&M Stores gave me a challenge to go shopping in our local store to see what ideas I could come up with for Mother’s Day. I decided to have a good hunt around and see what lovely bargains I could find to use as gifts for Mother’s Day. You might also get a few ideas for classy gifts for grandma while you’re at it!

Treatbox Review: Do you deserve a treat?

I’m a busy working mum, with little time for myself. So when Treatbox got in contact asking if I would like to try out one of their monthly Treatboxes I thought why not? I think I deserve a treat every now and again. Plus I have a sweet tooth! To be honest I love all subscription boxes and I love to receive them for birthdays and Christmases. I love the surprise element of it arriving through the post. I’m happy to get any subscription box to be honest and there are loads out there including ones with healthy snacks like Earlybird.

Anyway sometimes we need a little sweetness in our lives, and great thing about Treatbox is that it arrives straight through into your letterbox. You can choose from different selections, such as chocolate lovers, candy lovers, sweet shop, liquorice lovers, Treatbox full of bars and a Belgian chocolate selection.

Living Arrows 8/53 (2018)

Welcome back to our little weekly round-up of Living Arrows 8/53 (2018). I’m enjoying getting into the routine of sharing a little bit of our life and how my gorgeous 2 year old is growing away so fast!

You can catch up on last week’s post here : Living Arrows 7/53.

The idea behind Living Arrows is to celebrate childhood. It’s name is taken from a poem by Kahlil Gibran,

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Living Arrows 8/53 (2018)

This week, we haven’t had the chance to get out much due to the typical Cornish weather and my work shifts. I’ve only got 2 more weeks of work left now before maternity leave so we will be out and about more soon!

The photo above of baby girl is one her dad took of her and sent to me while I was at work. She is such a cutie, trying to stifle a laugh I’m sure!

She has been watching some episodes of teletubbies this week. It’s her new favourite show. She dances to the TV when they are on, going Tubbie bye byes, Tubbie bye byes! Then when it finishes bursts into tears! She is growing up so fast now and beginning to realise things more.

My darling sensitive girl. x

Thanks for stopping by today.

Product Review: Step ‘n’ Potty From Bumbo

Potty training – yes it’s nearly that time. For weeks baby girl has been showing the signs that she’s ready. Examples being taking her clothes off, saying wee wee, hiding behind the sofa to have a pooh and having a dry nappy for periods of time. In fact when she had a horrible virus last year, my GP wanted a wee sample from her and I actually got her to have a wee in the potty, so I know she could probably do it!

To get us ready for potty training, we have been very lucky to receive the Bumbo Step ‘n’ Potty to review and help us on the journey. The Step ‘n’ Potty is 3 products in one. Firstly you have the potty, but that also converts to a toilet training seat. In fact the seat fits most adult toilets. Then you have the base of the potty that is also a step stool, that can be used to reach the toilet. Having a step stool is most useful in the kitchen or in the bathroom for little ones to reach the sink to wash their hands. So when potty training is done, you can still make use of the Step ‘n’ Potty for many years.
