Oak Furniture Wish List For a New Home

Moving into a new home was a very special time for us. We finally had worked our socks off to afford a gorgeous 3 bed detached house with a rather large garden. Much better than the 3 storey town house built into a hill we moved from. Anyway we love proper wood furniture, the sturdy robust type that will last forever and worth spending those extra pennies on.

I love a blank room to plan from, this is what one end of the living room looked like before the movers arrived. It doesn’t look like that now of course – it’s missing baby girl’s toys! But you have an idea of the space.

How Can One Person Be So Unlucky At Conceiving?

*Trigger Warning*`

As I’m writing this I’m having yet another suspected miscarriage. Last Wednesday I found the courage to take a pregnancy test. I was 4 days late, I knew something was up as I had been feeling rubbish for the past few days.

If you don’t know my history I had 3 miscarriages before baby girl was born in 2016. So I know exactly what it’s like to miscarry. I have spent the last few years wondering why I’m unlucky at conceiving.

The test last Wednesday was what I call a strong positive test. The lines were very strong and not faint at all.

positive pregnancy test - unlucky conceiving

For a few days we were so excited that baby girl was going to get a sibling. Then Saturday happened. I was at work for 5:30am felt a bit rough all day, but by the afternoon I felt cold and shivery. I knew straight away that it was happening again. On all 3 of my previous miscarriages I got cold and shivery which I’m guessing is my body rejecting what is not meant to be.

Twenty Fingers Personalised Papercut Review & Giveaway

We have started to fill our walls in the new house with family pictures and memories. So when Twenty Fingers contacted us asking if we would love to review one of their gorgeous framed personalised papercut, it came at the right time. A bespoke personalised papercut to us would fit lovely amongst our photos.

The process of designing your own papercut on the website is fairly simple and easy to navigate. The hardest part I found was trying to decide on what words I wanted! I know I wanted a saying that would fit in with what I wanted to achieve on the wall. I finally decided on this phrase, it’s made of two of my favourite sayings.

Home is where love resides, memories are made, families are forever, love today, tomorrow & always.

Don’t Damage Your Garden With These Dreadful Decisions

So you’re thinking about redesigning your garden, whether you have just moved in to your new place, or it’s been long overdue, there are many common mistakes that are made that you will want to avoid at all costs. Here are a few examples.

Re-designing your garden

No plan

First and foremost, no matter how many ideas you think you have that’ll be simple enough to do – don’t just go into them with no plan of action. Write out a plan of ideas in order of ease, and then figure out exactly what you want and what you need to do to get it done, along with any prices if you think it will cost you money. (In this case, you should also create a budget!)

The easiest way to make a plan is to sit in your garden, have a good look around and figure out what’s missing, like colourful drama – or what needs to go, like an old bust up fence. Remember that no job is too big or too small if you have the right equipment and knowledge.
